Hunter of snark bait.

As heartless as this may sound I don't see what praying will accomplish, it is true that most of us can do nothing about the quake itself but we can always donate to the Red cross and other organizations that will need the money to take care of the victims.

I guess I have an advantage over most people. At least I know I'm not getting a happy ending.Signature Image

Fran<<I hope you not only pray for your beloved idols but for ALL the people in Japan.>>
I mentioned the idols just to make the topic a little softer, so don't take it too seriously, please... I can't do anything about the tsunami, not for my brother who lives in Valparaiso, where the tsunami will arrive soon, so all I can do is to take it lightly, because worrying won't take me anywhere

Oh, and thanks for the link

I agree with you, but there are also people who aren't okay economically and can't do anything... I feel so helpless :S

Same for me, so helpless ... So sad...
Lets all pray for all the people out there.

Anime is a life that we all want to live in. But we can't.

I'll pray for my former Japanese teacher. Keep strong.

Although you may consider prayer useless, prayer is a way to give hope to those who are in need of hope. To hope that a higher being will watch over and comfort those affected is what prayer can do. Hope can do a lot. And prayer is a form of spreading that hope. You may not see the point to it, but it isn't your place to say to people that their prayers are useless. It isn't.

We cannot do anything about the earthquake itself, as it is a force we cannot win against (and it's already over), but we can assist where we can in the aftermath of it. We can donate monetarily or do what we can to spread the information on how others can donate if we, ourselves, cannot so that those who can donate will know how to donate. And, we can also offer services or goods in exchange for others to donate (in such communities as help_japan on livejournal).

I will pray and donate.

Calgon, take me away~!

Thoughts and prayers go out to all of the victims of the earthquake... actually, anyone affected by the earthquake (as I know a number of us may know people with family/friends in Japan too). I don't want to reiterate what everyone else has already said, but I do want to share a beautiful improv piano piece by the ever-talented AJ Rafael called "Praying for You (Japan)". It brought tears to my eyes... sometimes where words fail, music can succeed in capturing the emotions we're all feeling.

Even Japan's technology cannot divert the might of mother nature.
Hope all that survived are safe. I can see about five years of recovery from this event and the blow it gave to the Japan's economical stability.

The BBC has received downgraded casualty estimates due to the expected Tsunamis being of a much lower order, and the rural nature of the most affected region, they now estimate somewhere from the mid thousands, to about fifteen thousand. That is before after-shocks are taken into effect. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-pacific-12709598

Google has set up an online Missing Person Finder tool just for the Quake, so if you know someone over there this should be worth a try: http://japan.person-finder.appspot.com/?lang=en

You say I fool myself
But better me than being a fool for some one else

My prayers and thoughts go the the victims of the quake and tsunami in Japan. I can be considered lucky as my country does not have this sort of natural disaster. May the victims rest in peace.

My prayers and thoughts the the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. May the victims rest in peace. All my friends who lives in Japan, i still can't contact them. Hope they're all right.. Sometimes i realize that we're just like a fragile toys to the God or mother nature.. =.=" gosh..

So...hot...

People can't do anything to avoid something that God wants to happen. What we can do is pray for the victims and help them if we can, the rest will be up to them. Japan is a strong nation that always manages to find its own way to stand up and start to walk again, it's not going to be an easy process but they'll make it maybe faster than many people could imagine.

I do not fear death, but I do fear of losing sight on what I believe in.

My prayers go to the people affected by the quake. I hope that they will recover soon.

Anything can happen

My hometown is home to many natural disasters at Vietnam, so i can understand the pain of the victims of natural disasters, they not only need to donate, but they also need hope.
