I believe for people like me, adding an achievement for Gallery Comments may help.

To the staff;
I do believe that the credit system 'forced' participation on people who may not have wanted to, but it allowed us to be a little more social. As a matter of fact, half the time, I disliked the system, but the fact that I had so many credits, so many comments made in the galleries, it made me feel like I had an impact.

Whenever I left a comment, I often did so with effort and thought about what to write. As a matter of fact, most people who joined Minitokyo did it mainly to get the walls. Minitokyo was active because people had to participate and comment to get scans and walls they liked.
No matter how you look at it, if people are active on here, it's better for Minitokyo. Now, it'll just be like people create an account to get like one or two walls, then leave.

Most my motivation in being an active part of the community, where I would comment on every piece I liked, in order to save credits for the future. And for my collections, I would save all related scans.

Earlier before this announcement, I thought it was some kind of event, so I went nuts saving all kinds of scans 'cause there was no reason to comment.
I kind of lost motivation to post.

Regardless, I preferred the credit system. Or else I fear I'll become one of those people who were too lazy to type anything so just spammed the gallery for credits, BUT in this case, become a 100% lurker.

This makes me really happy. Now I don't have to fret about wasting credits on pictures I've already downloaded to didn't fully load and I had to refresh the page to get them.

The Critiquer achievement does that. Though only for wallpapers and indy art comments.

At first I thought losing credits was the end of my MT existence, until I read this~~!

And all I can say is... Wow, this surely is an 'achievement'! The Achievements will definitely help us keep track of our progress through the site.

Keep up the good work, staff and admin! Kudos to everyone who actively participates here in MT. :)

au do not understand about the achievements, ojala aya also freedom of language, because like me there are many that we love your website but are not fluent in English and we feel the painful nesecidad to use translators, thank you and mcuh success.
