The story takes place several years after "Zero Requiem".
According to Ichirou Ookouchi, the main character is Lelouch but it's another Lelouch from alternate world/universe or a fake Lelouch. Which means that the real Lelouch is truly dead in the actual timeline. This concept was scrapped.

Well that's I guess better than my original fears of them ruining the perfect ending just for a cash grab.
Not 100% sure though how they plan on implementing this alternate universe

Ah how nostalgic! So it's a fake Lelouch - that is sad to here...
But the trailer looks promising! ^^
I just like how people that still hate him and totally didnt know his great plan are just totally cool with him being there and not asking any questions
I haven't watched it yet and I don't think I ever will.
