Browsing galleries i'm always finding scans with very poor quality, reescaled images, with a lot noise. I Think people are in a run for get levels, and i don't know why exactly but i have some ideas (the first is to download the scans...). The level "10" for download should be upped to "20" hehe.
I spent more than 30 mins making a scan with this quality:

So i suggest, if people read this... to do this for a better quality scan:
If your source scans are from the net, for example the LYC scans of megami, at least take the time to improve the
quality of the images. LYC scans are always in 2 images per scan, so you will need to collapse them into one as you
know. Don't collapse them like a puzzle and don't keep that crappy line of cut effect, and less don't keep a white line
in the middle; that's horrible!!. In almost all the galleries there are too many scans with the cut effect, something
really bad.
With the smudge tool and pencils of photoshop you can make correct this error. Wonder how?
Also, to remove the back page effect look (to see the page back...), is also recommeded to use the smudge tool, If you know photoshop and have a good brush created the work is quite simple and fast. Anime scans are always plain colors so you only need to use pencils or the smudge tool (the finger).
The noise Aspect:
There too many ways to remove noise. One is reescaling (example: from 2000 to 6000, the more the better) and using one
of the noise filters of photoshop (i don't know its transalation into english). Later we resize again to the original
size and we get a better quality pic. If noise persists, use a plugin especially for removing noise. I use Neat image, i
think it is the best. This plugin is good for minor levels of noise but it can serve anyways to remove high levels of
noise as well using it more than 2 times.
The other one, is having a good scanner like the last canon scanners and use them :D. They are cheap imho.
Removing noise it's not always possible, so i suggest scans gallery items to have an icon of NO NOISE or clean image :D. That should differenciate the hard work against the others with the only purpose of get levels.
