There's no Tsubasa anime... only manga
Clamp only started around May last year.... Del Ray have picked up both of them
hella quick.
I've yet to read XXXHolic yet... still go the scanlations sitting on my
computer, but I read the scanlations of Tsubasa last year before it was
licensed, I'm about up to volume 3 or 4 or so now.
And I think volume 5 is just about to be realised in Japan.
Actually the series is getting pretty interesting about now... more different
characters are being crossovered from alot more of a broader range of different
series. From the Clamp school boys, Ringo from Angelic Layer.... even Clamp
fangirl favourite Seishirou.
Anyway,
When I first started reading it I was really exicted, I throught "how cool,
Sakura and Syaoran are back" but as I read on I got a little
disapointed.
And after many many heated discussions on Tsubasa on Clamp Campus Forums (a
forum like this one, made up of mainly of Clamp fangirls) I realised it's many
faults.
I won't go into all that too much if you don't want me too, since I don't want
to ruin your opinion of it, if you like it... that's fine.
But I'll just say this, it's not up there with my favourite Clamp manga.
But that doesn't mean I hate it.
for me, ive only read manga 1 of tsubasa, and i really liked it. Okay, syaoran
was maybe a little too much over sdakura before they departure to Heishan but im
fine with it. i think CLAMP is really improving from manga to manga. The
drawings still have their style but has a new touch that i like. squarry lines?
as for the story, ive always loved those kind of quests so im happy.
but hikari, please say why you dont like it, (without any spoilers )
I never really like the old school art style of Clamp, like the early X volumes
of even Tokyo Babylon, but I got But I got passed that for the story. I love the
new style Clamp is using in Tsubasa. It's new and more edgy, less shojo since
it's aimed at a male audience as well. Like Hikari Sakurai said, on the Clamp
Campus forum wich I am also a memeber of, not many liked the manga because they
didn't like the art...that's no reason to totally deny it. The story so far...I
didn't really see one because I only read bits and pieces of it online, but I'm
interested in the charcters outside of Sakura and Syaoran. I like Kurogane a
whole lot...kinda reminds me of Zoro from One piece.
As for xxxholic, I think you'll like it Candy Chan. Yuko is the best manga
female I have seen in quite some time. She has eyes....a cool stare. And what I
like in the manga is the small use of backrounds...the aren't that much wich is
the exact way I draw manga...can't draw backrounds to save my life....
i think CCS is a classic ^^ one of my favorate manga by Clamp... sweet and
decent ^^ well... but if we're talking about style... I think Clover has the
best one... Anyway... I think the story of xxxholic is more interesting
comparing to Tsubasa... At first I just can't except the complete change of
Sakura and Syaoran... they're just not "Sakura and Syaoran" ><
and yeah... too many crossovers >< some of the characters I just want
them to stay as the way they used to be... but Clamp have changed their role
completely >< i don't know... maybe that's the purpose of fan service...
but as the story goes I think it's still worth a try...
My friend bought it at Anime North and let me borrow. I think it's cool seeing
all of these different characters from all of the Clamp manga in one! Chi was so
cute! I'm not really like how Syaoran is all over Sakura, it's really OOC for
him, but I guess this does take place in an alternate universe... Maybe they'll
meet their other dimension counter-parts, ne?
Anyway, I'm waiting to see some more characters development with Kurogane and
Fye. They're my favorites so far.
Ooh, love Kurogane and Fye, too. Tho' I
haven't read TRC..meh. I want to, tho'. >.>
As for the new art style, it's now one of my favourites. (tho'
nobody/nothing beats Nanae Kurono and Obata Takeshi) It's very, very cool. On
the other hand, I'm biased. X) Though I appreciated their shoujo style before,
I'm not so much into that.
I went to Japan for two months so I got to buy all the 6 special edition hard
covered bookc in a special case Tsubasas! (yeah, it's a long description ^_^;; )
it's SO DAMN awesome!
Oh, and I got to get XXXholic up to # 4 there too (I can't read much because
they don't trasnlate the kanji! ><)
yaaaa this manga is prefectly nice to read especially where syaoran try his best
to get sakura's feather
may i ask that reservoir chronicle release until where now????
I never really liked ccs... so I guess Tsubasa wasn't that bad, I enjoyed it
tremendously (the 1st volume, at the very least). Besides, the MKR mashin were a
Godsend. ^_~

yeah i liked tsubasa, too. but i think that xxx-holic is a little bit more original and interesting

^^ i like tsubasa RC its not as girly as CCS and stuff :P
