hmm...for me, since i leave my side panel open, it collects dust at a pretty
alarming rate compared to closed casings. so, i try to clean it every 6 months.
but i haf been too lazy recently to actually really give it a scrub it so
deserves.
i usually take out everything, clean it part by part n put it all back. optical
drives, harddisk, graphics etc....i use a lightly damped cloth to wipe away the
dirt....
Quote by ahmadmzi never clean my computer
either i wonder what's going on inside
>_>
lolz....i was cleaning my heatsink fan that day and after doing so and turning
on my computer, it started emitting some groaning noises.
it stops after a while but trust me, it is totally unbearable for the period it
is on. guess itz time to get a new one.........

i like to clean mine every 6 months also,
but im not as thurough as you, i just blast it out with caned air
lol - I happened to clean mine a couple days ago - and for the first time when I
got my new computer - which is about 10 months worth of internet surfing - 15 GB
of Temporary File Space X_x
I couldn't believe my eyes and had to run through Adware, Zone Labs, etc. - and
finally cleaned up my whole computer like serious-wise. Thank goodness.
Physically, my computer didn't really collect much dust at all, because the side
of the tower has a built-in neon fan at the side.
Well - what can you say, right? lol - No dust for me!
I have three criteria for cleaning the machine out.
1) Something is making noise, and it actually bothers me (ie: it's not in the
computer room).
2) It has been up 100 days. Time to open the case and make sure everything is
still spinning that should be. Can be a bit tricky with the machine running,
depending on case design.
3) I have to take the machine down for hardware swap, kernel upgrade, etc.
Might as well take the opportunity to blow out the inside.
A rule of thumb I have heard is once a year for home PCs. Once every six months
if you have pets that shed.
For you guys buying canned air, man, those dual-action pumps you use for
inflating air mattresses are wonderful for blowing out machines. Canned air is
too expensive in comparison. Save your money for better things like anime or
better hardware :-D
*edit* I can't believe I wrote "personal PC". That's up there with
"PIN number" and "ATM machine".
just cleaned it a few days ago.
I don't usually clean it on purpose though ^_^"
if I happen to open up the case for instance I wanna install a new drive, then I
would clean it. ^_^"
Once every six months. pop open the case clean out the inside, scrub down the
fans and re-oil them. wipe down the monitor and keyboard with rubbing
alcohol(also the connectors on all PCI cards). Also if your loookin for a good
way to clean the grime between the keys on the your keyboard. Qutip and rubbing
alcohol =).
I dust it out whenever I open the case, which usually ends up being every 3-6
months or so. Having air filters on the intakes really helps reduce dust
build-up.

I've got a laptop. No idea how to clean it, so suffice to say I
haven't yet. It's about a year or two old.
haha...i guess laptops' interiors cant really be cleaned. imho i feel laptops need nt be cleaned as their interiors are shielded.
