So I just finished watching the anime, all 26 episodes.. Based on ancient
Chinese legend.. watched a lot of them in a row, finished it very quickly
despite all the episodes.
And I gotta say I'm torn between the realistic/legendary/unexpected aspects of
it and the sheer torture of it. See, there's no 'good guys win in the end' stuff
in these episodes. Real, awful, tragic. It's all based on legends, without the
usual feel good cliches or even any filler episodes, and it's absolutely
killer.
If it weren't so good while so stabbing you in the chest I couldn't recommend
it. They keep on tormenting the main characters so much wow it's hard to stand..
It starts off easier than it gets so it fools you in the beginning too.
Oh yeah it's got plenty of 'Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon' style (what's that
stuff called) leaping from rooftops and trees too. Very nicely done
that.
I've never watched an anime before that made me feel so awful but was so good.
AGH!
Elfen Leid was kinda like it, but -less- tragic, believe it or not. I can't
think of any other animes I've seen like it -- anyone know of any?
I'll wait to watch them when I can stand another series like that though. Whew.
I need a happy break.
Woah...didn't know there would be a thread about this..lol...
ANyway, i did watch abit of the anime...but i usually watch the chinese drama
aired in my country Singapore...lol XP
Like to see their fighting scenes and stuff....and i did read the novel on the
legend before....
Aggghhh.. I'm getting addicted to the 2003 Live Action Drama now! I wish I could
get Hong Kong TV with it.. almost.
Since I don't know Chinese I'd need English subtitles, and, nothing but fansubs
for the first 4 episodes I can find so far! Gah! And low quality video too.

They are showing the second season in Hong Kong right now. It's about to end soon and the third season will start some time later.
