how is the band/song not cool? im so sick and tired of seeing LP taking so much
shit from everyone just cause that they got so popular. Everyone just says they
suck with no reason when they are probably one of the more unique bands out of
recent.
if you honestly think they suck, i wanna hear your reasons
Different people have different opinions. That's how they and anything else can
suck.
As for my opinion, I use to like them... when they first came out. My reasons
for not liking them is that their songs basically are your typical cliche of
teenage angst (i.e. Staind). They're a friggin boyband. I'm pretty much sick of
it.
Question: What musical category are they in? (Rock? Heavy Rock?) They're
definitely not Heavy Metal.
I'm not trying to get on your bad-side crapmonster, just stating my opinion.
^_^
Now, as for the music video I found that pretty damn cool; not the music. The
art style reminds me a lot of the one that was used in Kill Bill. Good choice on
the DJ's part. As for originality in the music video; it's not original it's
been done before. (Crappy) Korn used it in one of their music videos and was
well done and it also used Todd Mcfarlane's art style. Radiohead also used
animation to for one of their songs, although not anime, but very odd and pretty
good.
Never said I liked them. I listen to In Flames & Blind Guardian. But I like
anime, that's why I posted it. If anyone else wants to give their opinion on LP
on why they are great or why they aren't go do it in a chatroom. ANIME BABY!
THATS WHY THIS THReAD IS HERE! WOO MY CAPS IS STUCK!
I can listen to everything, and i like LP, and the video rocks, and the song is
probably the second worst song on that cd (worst being "Somewhere I
belong") but i love the cd to death.
Don't you just love how can I bash a cd and then say I love it?
havent listened to LP in forever... I would check out the video... but
realplayer is the devil and I refuse to let it infest my harddrive with its
black black heart....

i dont give a shit if you hate or like them but posting, "they suck"
with no reason pisses me off. and you yourselve just did it with korn, you just
say they suck with no reason yet they are probably one of the most noteworthy
modern rock bands. well i aint pissed at anybody trowble and tele'fragd, just
pisses me off when people diss stuff with no backup.
i mean for example if i said metaliica or tool sucks, and gave no reasons, im
sure almost every rocker out there would bitch me out

I understand you fully, it's like ordering a hotdog and only receiving the bun.
I gave you my reason as for not liking Linkin Park. As for Korn, I guess I
didn't clearly say why I didn't like them by putting 'crappy' before the band
name, but I'll be a bit clearer, sorry for that. I just don't like Korn's music.
I give them credit for having unique music videos.
Also, a long time ago one of the band members from Korn with a long goatee made
one of the most annoying music videos that I've ever seen and heard in my life
and it was a song about smoking weed, it was solo and left a bad taste in my
mouth. I forgot his name, but it'll help me search for the song better.
These are all my opinions though, so I'm not speaking for others. And honestly,
I wouldn't really give a rats ass how badly someone bashes something I like,
because everyone is entitled to their opinion. I mean as long as it's not my
opinion I have no reason to care about someone elses. ^_^
Am I not entitled to my own opinion? I said I don't like them. Can't you lighten
up a little?
Some reasons why I dislike them:
1. They rap in their songs
2. Songs follow the same format (Bands usually evolve and change their song
format, all the hit LP songs I've heard sound almost the same)
eg. Crawling, Somewhere I Belong, In the End, Numb, One Step Closer, Points of
Authority.
A specific example: (two songs played simultaneously) http://www.ugcs.caltech.edu/~paymer/mer/all_linkin_park_songs_sound_exactly_the_same.mp3
3. Their songs always have something to do with all things 'angsty' - eg.
depression, anger, suicide etc. Come on, how long can you whinge about
something? I really don't think they'll change either since that's the way
they're marketed.
4. This is a stereotype I've noticed but... whenever someone says anything
remotely defamatory against LP (forums especially), numerous fans seem to take
it drastically to heart thinking that the livelihood of their band is at stake.
I wouldn't give a crap if someone said that they hated all the bands I liked.
Crapmonster, I am not personally attacking you in any way. Feeling contempt for
someone just because they like music that you don't is just stupid. Although if
you're part of the stereotype that has developed, then you probably won't listen
to me anyway...
I know I probably made a post or two that contradicts me here, but I was being
silly at the time, which you can tell with use of ":P".
That's generally what I think of them. Marketers saw an opportunity to make
money after the declined popularity of Limp Bizkit, which targeted the same
demographic in the same manner. Market a product well towards teenagers and they
will buy and accept it.
A few things that this documentary presented well:
One thing positive about the band that I will admit after seeing parts of live
performances is that they do seem to "care" about their fans more-so
than other bands.
So there you go. I gave my reasons for disliking them, happy now?
Still, if they suck, you shouldn't even post here, everybody have reasons on
what they hate but just try not to show to the public, because MT is all about
opinions but saying they suck really piss other ppl off, if u hate it, don't
reply the thread. o_O
I was being silly at first, but then Crapmonster decided to attack and give me
demands. So I surrendered and gave him his demands :P
I didn't mean to instigate hostility.
i watched the video i like it, and the song breaking the habit is one of my
favourites songs, but isn´t the first time that linkin
park make a video with animation
http://www.mtv.com/music/video/premiere/linkinpark/
New music video. Pretty sweet they used anime through-out for it. Same animators who did the kill bill anime scenes.
really that cool.....

This thread is really coming down. o_O

In addition to what Kohaku said I say let's just get back on topic here.
Back on topic:
On the link that was provided on the first post it leads you to MTV's website, click on it and look for:
"Breaking The Habit"
from the album
Meteora
It's the first video link on the page in the middle.
Looks interesting. Can't load the movie file for some strange reason though, but will most likely come to TV here any tiem soon anyway
The video hurts my eyes, too much intense movement.. but it was pretty awesome.
I like LP, and I love anime, but my 56-k modem sucks ass.
i watched the video i like it, and the song breaking the habit is one of my favourites songs, but isn´t the first time that linkin park make a video with animation
I loved that music video *dances to song* Yeps it reminded me of Kill Bill throughout
every album I could GET FROM them! there's NO escape!!! hahaha!! Yeah I saw that vid, and IT ROCKS!!!!
In my opinion, Linken Park is one of the coolest bands ever, and this music video solidifies, and even increases, their coolness.
