After thoughts of Resident Evil 4

Today I finished completing Resident Evil 4, and I gotta say Capcom did a good job with it. The cinematic scenes are awesome. The gameplay is great and the graphics. The downside about this game from the rest of the RE series is the plot. I feel the plot could have been expanded more but the ideas and such are good. The minigames are good qualities of the game as well after you complete your game. I look forward for another sequel. There are things left undone. What are your thoughts about RE4 after you finished it?

i thought the ending was funny, it was a good time, another thing they should have done was make the different handguns more effective against the parasites that sprout out of their heads, the amount of ammo they take gets kind of annoying. i wish that they came out with the other game that they had planned first, the one with zombies in another mansion, but i think that game's coming out at a later time, but anyways, that game should get game of the year so far.

RE 4 was an excellent game, game of the year candidate so far, but it didn't "feel" like a Resident Evil game. I've seen videos of the previous builds and it seemed like they were more traditional Resident Evil games, and kept the top notch graphics and gameplay just in a different setting. I still wonder why capcom changed it to the version we see today

Yes, I absolutely agree with you MainOne. RE4 did not have the same feel as it had in recent RE games. It was still enjoyable though. I also saw videos of the previous product of the game, and it was incredibly awesome. My thoughts are they scratched their previous products are for one i know as a fact is one of the old RE4 builds turned into Devil May Cry and other ones because they wanted something new and original as when they first released Resident Evil on the PS.

I was considering getting RE4 when it came out for the PS2 but the whole deal with putting up with Ashley protecting her from all sorts of enemies really turned off the interest I had in this game.
With that said, and bearing that you all have finished the game, how much does Ashley interfer with the gameplay? Does she make the game twice more frustrating or what?

Kulutues all it takes is one word "yes" lol. This only happens when you first get Ashley. Like you'll kill her accidently or she will be in the way so you have to go around and kill enemies. Or another is when theres a group of villagers and you have to kill all of them so they wont hurt her as well as you. But you get hurt in the process of protecting her at times. All i can say is it gets a lot easier along the way and its worth getting and playing. Very worth while. Lastly yes it is frustrating at times. Have you heard Capcom is having a hard time moving their game into the PS2? Seems GC is a lot more powerful than PS2...hm. But one good thing about PS2 version of RE4, the special features it will carry.

well, she doesn't make it twice as frustrating, cause the 3 times that i've gone through the game she's only been killed once for me, so it's not that big of a deal, in my opinion, and the chicago typewriter rules, now i want the hand cannon

That's the other thing bugging me about a PS2 RE4...the graphics. From what I read the game was designed solely for the GC and it was made to push that hardware to the limits, even though I'm a very proud PS2 owner I won't discuss the GC has the capability to generate superior quality graphics.
The game was going to be GC exclusive but most stockholders at Capcom didn't like the decision of seeing such a quality and costly (production-wise) title exclusive to one console so Capcom were "pressured" to release it on PS2 (again, "profit" is the key word).
The problem is, like I said, the game was made solely for the GC so practically they're gonna have to "redo" the graphics engine from scratch in order to adjust it to the PS2 graphics engine, which, let's face it, if not done correctly, will completely botch the game.
If the game turns out good I'll most likely get it but so far my priorities are Tekken 5 and Devil May Cry 3.

i've got a bad feeling when i see this new game-play, it remember me Dino crisis. The first one was exactly the same, in game-play, that a RE. The second was arcade and more fun, but the last sequel of Dino crisis completly suck...
I just hope that Resident Evil will not follow the same way .
And for the story i don't really see real links betwen Umbrella, Racoon City..... and Los Illuminados.
btw i'm waiting for the next one, i heard that they're already work on it

And Claire always search for her brother Chris so ....

Claire already found Chris. There's no need to continue that part of the story.
