okay, I looked for this topic in the threads and haven't come across
it...
I'm wondering isince MT has alot of users requesting userpage skins, if it was
possible to have a section under gallery items of userpage layouts in which a
member who does not have skin making skills could download?
obviously they could not download all seven slices, but maybe the art before
slicing? then we could have a tutorial [excentric's fabulous PS tutorial: http://forum.minitokyo.net/showthread/8019/]
and I made a PSP tutorial [since it is much different: http://forum.minitokyo.net/showthread/15480/]
so others can have skins as well?
I realize there is a thread on MT for userpage requests, but I think that maybe
this method would be more effective- being that the user could see what the skin
looked liked?
what do you think?
I realize Sheqel and the mods are frantically busy with other matters at the
moment, but this is just a suggestion ^_^
oh nice idea ^^~! it sounds nice =d~!!! i think it's good for people who wants
another skin then the original one...and for people who dun have
time.........I'll support this idea ^^~!
It's an excellent idea. I have Photoshop, so I may be able to make some
userpages now. All I need now is the dimensions to each of the 7 images and the
header and that's it.
it's a great idea belmikry... i just have a little problem... i don't even have
photoshop but, for those who do, it would be really helpful i'm sure ^^
belmikry & Ayamael: I have neither photoshop or paint shop pro I
really should get a paint program one of these days
I think the idea is cool, benefical to those who request skins. But i'm a
little confused, who would be making the downloadable un-sliced layout art in
the first place? And what if members want their layouts personalized like have
their names on it? I'm so lost...I need to read the post again
iyasis- well, anyone who wants to submit one would upload them for others.. just
like wallpapers ^_^
if someone wanted to personalize it, maybe when they download the skin they
could add the text and since its not sliced yet, upload it after? or better yet
leave a post asking for the maker to add it personally and then email it to
them? that way no one would be ripping, so to speak.
I'd also include a link t the userpage tutorials to help them slice it, if thats
what you're asking
Quote by belmikryayamael: neither do i
>_< i only use paint shop pro ^_^ is that what you
use?
i have neither, i only have Paint... not even pro, and trust me, there's nothing
i can do with it (i tried... ) and i'd
love to get a better program, but well, let's say i'll buy a scanner before
buying a new software ... besides,
i can afford neither right now anyways
I have one from JASC Paint Shop Pro that I use to help me develop slices. It has
the guidelines and everything to it - of course.
I'll see if I can help in the matter as well - as making slices the first time
after creating the images gave me pretty much an hour of hard effort to
narrowing it down to the exact pixels, really. But if you've done it well enough
- you can do it under 5 minutes - no sweat. It's apple pie, really. And making
art slice by slice does get annoying over time - lol - I like your idea of
downloading it as a whole in the archives, then disecting it piece by
piece.
Good suggestion there, Belmikry. Hope this patches through, perhaps. Good day
there.
the mt tut for userpage setup tells you how to do slices from your pics and all
that I just can't seem to fill in the blanks. MT caters to experienced artists
not noobs,so they don't give the basics, just the highlights.
Agreed - while researching - I will tell you the exact pixels the slices should
be as a whole, that seems to be missing in Exentric's thread
apparently.
1034 x 950 - I have over here.
So when designing a new art - keep this in mind.
As well, realize that submitting slices are for pretty much 1280 x 1024 types of
displays. If you have a 1024 x 768 resolution, expect that your 1st slice, and
your 2nd slice to shift left by 70 or 80 pixels, and up by 40. I'm not sure of
the exact measurements, but you will notice a grid where your slices cut off by
then.
If Belmikry posts up a new thread on PSP tutorial, I will gladly hand in the
exact measurements of where the cut-off for slices may lead for smaller-print
monitors - but Belmikry may already know that then and there. lol - I trust her
new tutorial will help as such.
thanks everyone for the feedback! i think it would be a good idea for the MT's
who can't use any software- so they can express themselves too- or for the ones
who dont want to/know how.
Thank you Celessa for helping out. I actually made the PSP tutorial yesterday
the psptutorial [ver 1 ] is
here:
^_^ http://forum.minitokyo.net/showthread/15480/
i hope this helps, and cel- I believe these skin slice measurements are the same
as Ex's, if you could please send me the others? [hugglez] you're the best
glad you all think is a good idea, guess its up to the big guys now ^_^
anyways, I guess i'll make a skin as an example-
if anyone wants a wintery userpage, please feel free to ask me, and i'll modify
this userpage skin i just made of my latest wall for you ^_^
if you have walls you have made that you'd like as a userpage, I can do that too
its pretty blank, other than the box area- its the same format as my userpage,
so just picture mine- with this
I'd add whatever text- usually transparent boxes add a nice grid for text in the
main box, picture the borders for the sides, etc

wow, that is a great idea bel-san, eventhough I have no clue how to do any of this.
nice ^_^
i'd like to help out but..
im still having a little trouble with my OWN userpage lol
I downloaded the ps set that mt offers free, but I couldn't figure out how to use it. LOL .I got me a black belt in ignorance ,Hehe
Nice sound.
But I only have Photo Canvas.
And I can't use other program as well.
