For me it would be Metroid Prime 2 Echoes. For the first time metroid has
multiplayer . Great puzzles,great action,great bosses and great plot just
generally awsome and brilliant game
The classic Unreal for me. It's just perfect in so many aspects, the graphics,
the AI of the enemies, the entire enviroments which look so much alive and
breathing, the real feeling of being beached on a hostile planet so many
lightyears from earth and then the very innovative weapons and gameplay, not to
mention the awesome botmatches you could play. I learned how to work with
keyboard and mouse in one of the maps, Deck16. Took me a week.
I would say that Half Life was the best game. Haven't played the newest one, but
the original was such a jump in terms of quality, it blew everything else away
and I believe it still holds it's own.
Firefox: I agree that UT is/was a very good game, played it several times on lan
and the hours passed so fast cause we were having too much fun
Aa-chan: I fully agree, Half-Life 1 is probably one of the best games ever made,
I still think it beats Half-Life 2, even though the source engine looks really
beatiful..
Many ppl say to me if I tell them that I play CS 1.6 (based on HL1) engine:
"Lol that game looks crap!"
Well as a matter a fact I don't think it looks so crap at all and besides it's
all about the gameplay anway isn't it ? For me it is, anyways.
Although I'm not really into the FPS genre I'd say UT2k3/2k4 takes the cake...
probably because it's the most immediate fps and it's just really fun to play.
Combine that with plenty of weapons, wonderful levels and the possibility to
face even bots (with a wide choiche), mutators and there you go... it's just a
game you can't get tired to play. And of course it gets more and more
entertaining if you play it on a LAN with your friends
I would have to say half life 2, mainly cuz it also has counter strike. Those
two games i still play and they look better then before. I also like unreal
tournament and 2k4.
Are you talking about more recent games, or overall, because I've noticed no
ones has mentioned: Doom 95, Golden Eye, Wolfenstein 3D, Deus Ex (1 and 2),
Turok series, Medal of Honor series, ect. Seriosuly, I've seen nothing but,
Halo, Half-Life, metroid Prime Echoes...come on, get out there a little.
I'd say Half Life 2. This was a worthy successor to the original. It drags you
into its' world and never lets up. There is so much I could go on ranting
about.....

The other FPS games that i enjoy would be Halo 2, Timesplitters : Future
Perfect, Battlefiled 1942 and Killzone!
Tribes 1 was soooo fun, I loved dog-fighting other players 1 on 1. Very fast
paced action with sliding down hills and the ability to use a jet backpack
(limited energy) to get airborne. Three classes or armor, ability to set up
mobile bases, turrets, etc. A skilled skier can cover a large map in a very
short amount of time.
Goldeneye, Red Faction, and Deus Ex spring to mind. Half Life was good, but it
felt kinda drawn out sometimes... Also, they abandoned the PS2 on the mods! Why
include an option if you're not going to use it?
So for those of you who play(ed) fps games what game do u think is or was the best shooter game ?
For me that is half-life (1) deathmatch and counter-strike 1.6. Those are the only games that keep me playing it even after 5 or 6 years.
Games such as Doom III were imho really overhyped and don't have a gameplay that keeps you want to play imho.

someone has to say Halo, so I will. Halo and Halo 2 have a great campaign storyline, and the multiplayer is the best I've ever played.
