I have been to a lot of different chat rooms in various sites but most of them
seem pointless and are never on topic, are there actually any good chat rooms
and which is the worst rooms you have ever been in?
I guess it's the people who are using the chatroom who make it interesting. I've
never actually participated in chatrooms other than MT, partly because I have no
time and because yes, in a way, if you don't contlrol yourself, they can become
a waste of it.
I've recently joined the MT community IRC channel, it's fun! I don't consider
that a waste of time, I can get to know people who share my same interests for
anime and digital art, and of course you can talk about anything... plus they're
all very nice and friendly. Thumbs up!
I did chatrooms when I first got the internet, and soon realized how much a
waste of time it is. I consider forums a nice compromise, because it is not
live, and you aren't expected to reply right away.
Chatrooms are rarely very good any more. The problem is that they're too open
for the average joe to come in and say what he wants, and there's usually a lack
of enforcement regarding the discussion.

Which is a shame because you can have fun in a chatroom without sacrificing too much of your time that could be used for school/work. Moderation is better. Or how the SAQ (alcohol society) says here in Quebec: La modération a bien meilleur goût ! ^^
But I really love MT and am enjoying myself here because there are many people who share my interests and it's great discussing them with others!

Shinn , just wondering how to get into the minitokyo IRC channel, do you need special software?
mIRC? www.mirc.com? There you go.

I used to do chat rooms but not anymore. They truly are a waste of time. There are just too many n00bs and flamers.

Well, It depends on who you chat to.
