but apparently while I was searching the forums for this topic, I couldn't find
anything about it .. so please just humor me with an answer
anyways, I was wondering why we don't recieve notifications on scans from our
friends on MT. I always get their walls, doujinshi and threads, but why not
scans? is this because of the quantity of scans uploaded per day on MT? or am I
just odd and we do get notified? 0_0 ...
I've noticed how dissapointing it is when browsing my friends sites and seeing
so many nice scans they've had for awhile in which I had not seen, being that I
wasn't notified :P
Can someone tell me why or direct me to the proper place to get the answer? I
tried many times to check the forums, maybe i'm blind but I've looked under [in
the search] scans, notifications, friends notifications, etc... and nothing

Well, I suppose it's a valid question. Though
I'm assuming the answer is something like, "Because scans aren't created by
the person who submits it the way that doujinshi and walls are."
And, yes. Also because there are floods when someone (for eg.) downloads an
artbook and decides to share..
[edit] Sorry. Forgot to answer: submitted scans definitely do not get notifs. And,
personally, I think that's a good call by the admin for the above two reasons.
hmmm I also don't receive any notifications for scans.. I think they removed it
or it was all along not there..
since some people really do submit a lot of scans~ I guess just gotta make the
extra effort to browse through the gallery.. since its also less laggy now~

Lol, I had the same feeling belmikry. I would go through my friends' userpages
and see all their scans ~ and then freak out about why I never got notified of
them. After some puzzlement, I came to the conclusion that indeed you don't get
notifications for scans (^^);
I agree with bucket-shot's reasons: that scans, although they may scanned by the
member, or not created by the member as with wallpapers and doujinshi
submissons. And also imagine the notification floods other wise o_O
Personally, I perfer going through one series at a time, so I browse through the
gallery anyway ^^
ohhh, i just know that submitting scan wont get the notice ne. i never submit
scan image but i always find scan image in the gallery there but this stupid
explorer in my office cannot upload the pics even the thumnails. how poor i am.
i get some from my pals here coz i asked them to send me a great scan image for
my wallie ahahaha

just want to find some fresh stuff that i haven't sen before, so I berowse
random subjects ^_^

those who work on their work, not for something that was submitted from an
outside source.

kill it so we can give you guys some decent scans. Yes, I killed my card captor
sakura art book, it was expense, so people who do scans should get some credit.

All I have to say is: Do you have Noctum on your friendlist? No offense
Noc, but getting notified for all your scans would be unreal. @_@ Plus for
people like me with a large general friendlist, I'd be overwhelmed by hundreds
of them a day. Basically, being notified of scans would be a huge drain on the
server as well as somewhat cumbersome. ^^

haha, excellent point biriwilg. last year right after i "hit" level
10, i spent several hours viewing and downloading his gallery. geez level 170
something ...
the problem is that most of the scans are already on Mt so coming up with an
original scan [not already submitted] can be tricky.
