modem?
well.....im not shy to say: im happy whitmy modem.......maybe my neightbor have
broadband........maybe in japan they have optical-fiber technology whita stupid
speed of connection......but im still happy whit my 56kbps modem........and im
proud to say:
"i downloaded a full concert of slipknot in 4 days...."
yes.....i soud like looser whit a crappy modem............but halo2 looks great
in xbox live whit a 56kbps conec.....tio........pppppphphphphpphtttt........my
mouth ..........bleeding again....sorry

I am happy too...i only download small files and nes games from internet, so is
enough by the moment
nah, i'm happy right now with my 512/256 Kbps broadband internet :P music,
movies and pictures, i download often... well, that's my sister (and her
boyfriend) who likes to download shit like a mad!

I have a DSL, but the same thing u said " im proud to say i downloaded
WinUpdate in 1w", thx know i have something much better... but i feel your

I remember when the US Robotics Courier 2400 baud was considered
"blazing" - which, I guess, it is, compared to 300-1200bps some of the
other modems on the market were doing.
Stepping up to a 28.8 was like putting nitro in the tank. 56K? Warp speed,
Scotty.
Now that I have broadband, though, I really couldn't go back. Too painful to
watch that bar only move every ten minutes on downloads. Windows Update would be
a nightmare. I wouldn't even want to think about Sun patch clusters...
You all must be very lucky to have broadband in your area , here
only one local company who monopolize tellecommunication sector (and yes,
they're supported by local regulation too, even though their right will expire
this year...finally after many years) that's why the phone tariff are per minute
for local with outrageous price that increase every year.
Not to mention their adsl price for unlimited is about 25x times more expensive
than same adsl at other countries (my friend who is currently study abroad have
broadband and he seems to be very happy with his internet connection, damn I
envy him ).
it's been years since my first 14.4 k modem - netscape 2.0 - tcp ip connection
software (yup no microsoft dial up) , and now
I still didn't feel huge change in speed aftar all these years with my so called
153 kbps wireless internet connection.

in 56kbps and yes is a normal modem and are a bit fast than internal , the
internal have a great problem
they toast my brother and i ,we toasted 4 internal modems ....
the lesson don't connect to internet when is lighting
2 phone lines, 56k, the cleanest phone lines in town, and my PC can download 100
megs over a night. That's good, because I can't imagine my CD consumption should

If I wanted a huge file, I'll ask someone with broadband to download it for me and burn it to a disc.
