'Naruto' seems to be quite well-thought (like from the early chapters till now... everything seems to be thought off from the beginning).
Also 'One Piece' story, even though it's simple, kinda sucks you in.

I have so many favorites by story plot too like one piece, KO and many more.....

so hard to decide what my all time favorite is so i will just list off of some i like tsubasa reservoir chronicles magic knight rayearth angelic layer tokyo mew mew and .hack//legend of twilight

Hummm... that rather often changes but for the moment I will say that Fafner in Azure (Soukyuu no Fafner) is a quite good anime and one of my preferred.

I like Saikano. But I just had to have Azumanga daioh and School Rumble too. But Saikano is my absolute personal favorite.

I haven't seen or read anything as deep as Evangelion.
