my mum thinks anime is lame. seriously. whenever i ask her to get me something
related to anime, she's like, no way. lol. if she took them away, i'd cry.

Why does she think it's so bad? I get some occasional
grief from a few friends along the lines of "those portray unrealistic body
types in women" and that's sorta true but it's nothing too bad (at least
not in what I read) and it's not like I'm shoving it in any little one's face
and screaming "This is what you should look like!"

Well, all my anime is in my computer, and I have successfully lock my mom out of
it.
But if she ever actually did that, I will seriously argue with her all day long
(and dl more of them).
Probably won't ever happen. Though if it did I would wonder for a couple of
hours how they broke through my personal security system. Then become the most
annoying person on the planet at least when they were around.
If the parents decide to take away the anime/manga (or the computer where
everything is stored), there is almost always a reason behind it.
Typically the parents must think that their children are spending too much time
on them and neglecting their more important duties, such as studies. In that
case, I think it falls on the kids to make up for it and consequently convince
their parents that they can now juggle between entertainment and duties. I
cannot think of any sane parents who would just take away their kids'
anime/manga just for the sake of it.
