Mine would be the story about the man, his son, and their horse (or some other animal)

It's the story when in every choice they made, bystanders criticize it. It really thought me early on about how people are easily affected by comments around them and that the world is not fully composed of good people. After reading that story, I thought really hard and eventually decided to try and separate constructive from plain 'ol criticisms.

How about you?

i'm surprised no one's replied to this topic
i think its a really good one

but as to answering it i think i'll have some problems ahhaha
lol the little mermaid really bugged me when i was a little girl
because she did so much for that guy and in the end he fell in love with another girl just because he thought she saved him.
lol the whole story made me really angry, for her to go through so much pain and in the end get nothing for it. and she would never be acknowledged
and the other girl didnt even have to do any thing
but i guess i learnt thats just how the world works sometimes
some people have it lucky and some people dont
we just need to know where to draw the line and how to find happiness in what we have.

Actually, i don't know if i have any, if there's such a story as one of determination and skill, i'd really like to know.

The story of the horse the man and the boy also struck me... Goes to show that you will never please anybody...

I guess for me, I've got to say the tailor who killed seven flies in one strike. He embodies skill and craftiness, a little shrewdness and lots of courage and determination. It may not always be like his, he got his reward, but its a promise, a target, an exodus :D for those who go only via pure will and courage. If we strive hard and make the most out of every opportunity, we might end up just like the little tailor, and his plight and reward... :D

Hai! Over and Out... :D
