The first one that came to my mind is Ruby Weapon and Emerald weapon From FF7 (a very long battle), The Berserker from BOF3 and the "RIDER" (AKA Pale Rider) from BOF4 , Leon in the first of the two battle from Tales of Destiny ,Etc...
The list is long...
This thread does not include Final Bosses...regular or special bosses are fine!

maybe omega weapon from ff8. without correct tactics... its almost unbeatable

The Sorceror of FF8 in 2nd disc!!! Bcos she is unbeatable and even Squall get stabbed by her ice magic!!!!!! ( I hate this part!!, Bcos i thought i won already after the gain of experince...)

>=( >=0!! >=0000000~~~~~!!!!!!!! >=( >=0!! >=0000000~~~~~!!!!!!!!

DAMN! I thought i was the only one who could hardly beat Ruby and Emerald Weapon :|

(later i'll complete this post, until then...)

nothing else to say

Not so much an RPG, but. Sword of the Berserker: Zodd on Hard mode. Took me over an hour until I could beat him.

I have to say that Trema from FFX-2 is a pretty damn hard boss to beat, but then again I may just be a lousy player. ^_^'

I would say Emerald and Ruby Weapon in ff-vii. I could never beat them even when my characters were at lvl 75. another one would be Ozma from ff-ix it took me a long time to defeat it the first time I fought it.

*Edit* darkfirefox posted it before I could :)

Ozma from ffix.
I never beat him, though I imagine its possible with the right strategy.

Oh, and Sephiroth from Kingdom Hearts. Even at level 95 he was wiping the floor with me.

2nd disc? i thought that was the first disc ^_^'

Since, most of the ones I'm thinking of has been mentioned already. I would have to add the sealed monsters on the Wild Arms series. Ragu Ragla, Ango Mois and others that don't come to mind at the moment. Also the the enemies in Disgaea such as Uber Prinny Baal, Maou Priera and Majorly come to mind.

erm sephiroth in kingdom hearts if u play it normally w/o codes

indalecio from star ocean 2 very long and hard fight

Emerald Weapon in FFVII, but that can be easily defeated using that looping tactic and just then sit back or go somewhere else for 2 hours.
Another strong enemy to defeat has to be Omega Weapon from FFVIII. A definite potent foe.

The Demi-Fiend in Digital Devil Saga.

the four elemental gods in FF IX, spetially the water one, and their replicas in the 4th disc of the game... ~_~

Abyssion in Tales of Symphonia

Kangaxx in Baldur's Gate II.
It tooks me the half day for just killing his illusion and one more day to beat him.

Dalluhan(i think thats how you spell it) in Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

Sephiroth from Kingdom Heart, very hard ^_^'

lavos of Chrono Trigger all characters have lv 70 and i can't defeat him

Zophar in Lunar 2 I thought was the hardest
my characters were around lv. 55
