My BenQ 1620 can't burn TDK DVD-RW. Its weird, I can burn on Mitsubishi DVD-RW
just find. But when I use the TDK, nero (6.6.0.13) gives me the message ILLEGAL
DISC. I already upgraded the firmware to the newest, the B7V9 but the problem
persist.
maybe the disk is a slower speed disk and you're trying to burn faster? I
remember when 4x DVD-Rs came out, the drives could burn 4x, but most media was
still 2x. DVD-Rs (unlike CDRs) can only be burnt at speeds that they were
manufactured for.

my friend says "try different media, different software, and if that doesnt work, it just might be an incompatible thing" O.o
Some burners won't burn certain types of disc. My Pioneer will burn anything, but there are some drives that are very specific in what they burn.
And there is problem with your softwares? Mostly problem is from Roxio. Try to use Nero Express 5 or newer.
