Hey. I wanted to post something on akira but since there is a thread (seems to
be in a wrong lounge though) I'm gonna post them here.
I have several questions about akira. It's a little hard to understand (maybe
I'm just stupid). I wonder if anyone could clarify some things for
me...
1. What IS Akira? Is he energy, a person, or both?
2. Why did Tetsuo turn into that huge piece of blob? How did Akira reappear that
instant?
3. What happened in the end? Tetsuo turned into a universe right?
Well, that's all. Hope someone could answer these.
I never read the manga, but I thought the movie, Akira was excellent. Even
compared to recent animes, Akira seems fairly advanced. I did think the end of
the movie was a little ambiguous, when Akira returned and wrecked the entire
city and Tetsuo joined him. I also don't fully understand why the girl gained
psycokinetic powers. It would be good if there were a sequel to the film to
help explain some of the unanswered questions and tell Kaneda's story after the
destruction of Neo Tokyo.

Yeah, it was technically superb. It was made in 1988 too. Imagine that.
The girl gained psychic powers cos' one of those psychic kids controlled her.
She had potential for psychic powers I guess that's why they decided to use
her.
PS Yeah this should be in the anime/manga section but I didn't started this
thread I only searched it. ^^;;;

Overall i liked it but you have to watch it a couple of times to actually understand everything that is going on in the movie its my fav. anime movie

Akira I never saw it never could find it to rent or buy that's why. Plus I don't like buying online.
