what do u like better, star wars or star trek. In my opinion i think star wars is better because of its plot, special effects and the action

I like star wars more. Star trek to me was kinda boring and seemed to be dragged out as far as movies go.

star wars because of JEAN LUC picard

Quote by hiddensnakehands star wars because of JEAN LUC picard

Erm...you know that Jean Luc Picard is a Star Trek character, right? Anyway, since the last Star Wars movies sucked (the last Star Trek movies sucked too though) I'll have to go for Star Trek since the series are great.

i prefer star wars because of the story, characters and overall feel. it's a totally different world. star trek on the other hand is supposed to be out future, and thus colored by that with a semi navy/military organization that everything revolves around. star wars has the rebels too, i always like rooting for the underdog.
i don't really like comparing them though, because i think they are so different (apart from them both being sci-fi). i like star trek too though, right now i'm watching tos from the beginning, i've never seen it before. i thought i'd see where they went after enterprise, i'm really sad they cancelled that series, it was getting better and better. when i'm done with tos i'll probably continue to tng.
the star wars series they are planning seems interesting as well, i hope they won't be crappy >.<

i dont wanna offend anyone, so i like star wars cuz it has an epic feeling
and star trek for its breadth and obvious longevity

:pacman: I don't really like either; I hate Star Trek, so I sy Star Wars! XD

starwars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

srat wars. im not a huge fan though.

*points to custom title* Need I say more? I mean come on! Don't you wanna be a Jedi too?

It's kind of odd how we have Star Trek now because of Star Wars, even though Trek came first.

Trek originally aired on NBC in 1965. The series was eventually canceled. Years later, George Lucas comes out with Star Wars. By most standards, the story wasn't that terribly original. It followed a basic structure for an action/adventure movie. It's a hit.

The folks over at Paramount go "oh shit, do we have anything like that?" Cue Gene Roddenbery: "why yes, we do! It's called Star Trek. Remember that series that got canceled years ago?" In 1982, Star Trek is reborn with Star Trek: The Motion Picture. The success of the film relaunches the Star Trek franchise, spinning off new TV series (The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, and Enterprise) and several movies (at last count, there were ten).

Just a random piece of trivia.

As for my personal opinion? I think it's fairly obvious I'm a Trek fan. I personally like the "moral dillemas" posed and the resolutions. In some sense, it's a reflection of our society. But most of all, Kirk taught us no matter how things go, always score with the alien girl ;)

Uh, Kawaiiguy Star Trek: The Motion Picture was released in 1979. The better Star Trek movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was in 1982, actually it was the "best" of the Star Trek movies. I still watch Star Trek even if the original series is better than everything that came afterwards, but Star Wars is still better than Star Trek.

And then in 1993 Babylon 5 comes along and blows them both out of the water. The last best hope for good sci-fi.

Star Wars, though I have to admit that I really like The Original Series of Star Trek. You know, the one were Kirk would rip his shirt and magically defeat Apollo or God.

i'm not a big fan of either, but i'd have to go with star wars.

I'm largely in agreement with linus, in that I tend to shy away from comparing the two. Much like the PSX Final Fantasies, I honestly get something out of both, but I also think that they're fairly different in most ways, and should be evaluated on their individual merits.

As far as my own opinions are concerned, I enjoy Star Wars for the breadth and richness of its universe as I see it. The novels have expanded on the movies in generally good ways, and a few of them I find to be genuinely very well written; in my case, the best parts of Star Wars continuity and story telling are to be found there.

It's a bit tougher to explain in a reasonably concise way why I like Star Trek. Just about every series thus far has been filled with irksome little quirks and inanities that often as not I find to be fairly irritating, but for all that...I just enjoy the feel of it, as unsatisfying an 'explanation' as that is. I usually like Federation mechanical design a good deal, and certainly I enjoy the more cerebral aspect that kawaiiguy mentioned - that's not to say that Star Trek is anything akin to "the deepest show ever", to be sure, but I like that it at least tries to look at some thought-provoking issues - but there's also more to it than that. Maybe someone more eloquent than I will happen along and sum up part of it better than I can, but for the moment, at least, I guess I have to be content with the above - I simply like the feel to Star Trek.

*shrug*

Star Wars because it has much better story and intense battles.

Star Wars \o/ Effects, history, all the stuffs make it better XD

Star Wars. The storyline is more attractive to me.

I would have to say Star Wars because it doesn't drag on as long, alos I love the special effect and the whole storyline.

i hate Star Trek, and the only Star Wars movies i like are the older ones with all the action..lets face it, George Lucas is freakin terrible @ meaningful dialogue....episodes 1-3 all gave me a dam headache! >=(

i cant really pick between them cuz i like them both. i plan on trying to get both in their own box sets soon.

Is that kind of subject still coming up after all these years ?!? Amazing !

Star War!
nough said!

star wars. i tried watching star trek but i never got into it.
