I was wondering since I've listened to my radio that morning they were talking
about the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and how we should or shouldn't
have a remake of it.I personally think that we shouldn't because well the
original was good but there are those who knows what happens in the movies
especially if they've seen the original which it will spoil the new movie.Any
ways do you think?
i was very child when i saw the original willy wonka the chocolate factory...
as you said, many of us that still remember the original, can spoil this new
version... but leaving that aside, we will also be able to tell if the new one
can reach or not the shoes of the original one.
well i think this new one their making is suppose to be a little different then
the older one....
i dont know, i never really liked it to much anyway....
Quote by sjolleyJohnny Depp scares me in
this movie... He just looks like a zombie... I can't watch
it...
Haha really? He does look pretty freaky.
Nevertheless, he is one of my fav actors and deserves this part. ^^
I really look forward to seeing this movie even if it's a remake. The actors are
better, and this time, they won't burst into random songs. I think the original
one will always remain a classic but the new remake will give the movie a new
look.

i've heard that they changed somethings but the basic plot is the same... that's
why the name of the movie isn't the same as the original...
about johnny depp: i also believe he looks kinda weird here... i don't know,
maybe the trailers ar so fast that makes him look that way...
Actually I've heard that this remake is supposed to be closer to the book thne
the original was but I'm not sure I wasn't always a fan of the Willy Wanka and
The Chocolate Factory but I did like the Oompa Loompas lol
i think its ok to remake the movie, specially with tim burton at the helm, he
makes movies with a darker approach. its going to be far different than the
original, although not story-wise. plus, johnny depp is one of the best actors
out there, so i'm expecting a "wow" movie from him..
Ok, a few things about that movie that discourages me to watch it.
1) It seems like a redux of the original Willy Wonka in the Chocolate factory
with kids who get in trouble and such and the good little boy in the end gets to
own the factory. Whats the point in watching a movie that has already been made
b4?
2) the oompa loompas judging by the advertisement poster i saw dont look fat and
as funny as the old one
3) those kids look really really ugly
4 (this is by far the most important reason) Johnny Depp looks like a female.
Im not saying this to offend, but he looks like a girl and in the
advertisements, he wears lipstick. He did a great job in Pirats of the Carribean
that put him as one of my most favorite actors, but seeing him in that purple
hat and looking feminine wearing lipstick is disturbing in my opinion.
Despite these four bad reasons, I still have a small incline to watch this
movie. Perhaps i'll watch it with a friend so that if I have to suffer through
it, I wont be the only one to feel bad about it.
I was thinking because since this one is titled Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory and the original was named Willy Wanka and the Chocolate Factory.Since
in the the orginal Willy Wanka gave the factory to Charlie and so one

engenius as Johnny Dep...
I'm going to this movie jsut to see how he does it..
The guy
who originally played Willy Wanka said that Tim Burton and Johnny Depp couldn't
fill his shoes I'm not sure but I do know one thing originals are better than
the sequals in my opinion

don't think they should make a remake. Sure, it might be visually stunning, but
really, old school is the best. ^_~
True the original would always be better than the remake *in her opinion*
Gene Wilder is almost dead now... And if there is anyone who could bring a new
light to an old movie that he loved.... It's Tim Burton.... I mean look
what he did with the old Batmans... It's why they were soo dark... Remember
what happened when they went to new directors for the newer batmans like
"Batman Forever" and "Batman And Robin"?
They sucked compaired to the originals that Tim Burton made... Plus Denise
Burton keeps him in check usually so I expect not that it will be better than
the original, but that it will be a Tim Burton film...
That is all...
(I'm waiting for the remake of "The Incredible Mr Limpet".)

That's what I am meaning I mean the original wasn't dark .I know where you are
getting at Kenshin-san but I'm not sure if any one else would agree ya know like
those who have seen the original and loved it alot I'm not counting anyone out
on this though

I'm wondering though is this just a remake but is it also a sequal ya know Johnny Depp as Charlie and such? *ish confused*
....mmmm... I had not thought it before, but now that you say it, maybe it can be a sequel... ><

I totally agree. He's scary. And it also is kinda a bummer since the original wasn't bad or anything. They don't really have to remake it.
I know which is I don't understand why they have to or want to I mean the original is a classic childrens/famlily movie
i think it will be interesting with johnny depp in it! he's so funny!
me too.. and i don't even know who Johnny Depp is>_<
but it looks weird.
i like the old version better.
