My poor car, I think its cursed, only had it a year and a half now, and its managed to get hit by a taxi, broken into and now the front end is smashed up -.- *sniffle*
So far, I have spent maybe 6x the amount I paid for it on insurance and getting repairs :(

that totally sucks... Did anyone die in it before you bought it? ^.^

aww...it got hit by a taxi,...too bad...*hugs you*

i'm sorry to hear that... my old car (Honda Accord with automatic seatbelts) used to try and strangle me... i'd open my door to get out... and the seatbelt, instead of going down... it would get tighter... man, thank goodness for that emergency release button!

Heh. I honestly don't mean to hijack your thread, but...

My car isn't cursed. It's *possessed.* Or so it seems. All in all, it's a nice car. But man, it's got more electrical gremlins than you can shake a stick at. Here's a few things wrong with my car (not that anyone really cares, but maybe there's a few gearheads out there who'll get something out of it) :

Speedometer cable & angle drive broke. You can be flying 110 mph down the Interstate, speedometer always reads 0 mph. At least I'm not racking up anymore miles. XD

Engine temperature, oil pressure, fuel quantity sensors are all dead (or on their way out).

My steering column needs a new bushing (with every turn, you hear squeak SQUEAK).

Three of my four audio speakers are dead. The one that's left is a 7 watt RMS one-way speaker made by Craig from the early 1980s (yeah, it's an old car).

And there's other things too, but I'll let them rest for now.

What kind of car, Luali?

hehe, i once had a car acting all crazy. decided to scrap it and buy a bike. best decision i ever made :p

You should really get a new car. I don't think it is legal to drive that.

As for the orginal post, I feel sorry for you. Whose fault was it? the taxi or you. That is why I would buy second hand cars. Most of the time, you need to pay more money than it is worth to maintain or fix it.

Stars, I cannot say if it's legal or not. However, I can tell you precisely how fast I'm going from the RPMs of the engine (for example, on my car, 2,000 rpms in 3rd gear is 30 mph). The broken speedometer cable, as far as I know, is the only thing that would make the car "illegal."

As far as getting a new car, I'm afraid I cannot part with her. She is a classic, and I worked for, well, a very long time to get one. :) Maybe I could've spent a little more time picking out a better one, but what can I say? I was anxious. XD As long as I do the legal limit, I'm breaking no laws as far as I know. All the safety equipment is fully operational, etc etc.

Well the first time the taxi hit me, this time it was my fault for being on autopilot (not really but you may know what I mean) in the morning going to work :P even the guy in the car next to me didn't even see the car I grazed till we were practially in it with them.. luckily I have great breaks and nothing but the external bits are broken - it still drives...
its a Citroen AX - '93-ish... and claims to be red, although its more dark brown-red :P

you poor poor person. I feel sorry for you. hopefully that ill be all that happens to it. :\

I think i'll end up totally rebuilding the car bit by bit :P
first the passenger door, then the driver-side locks, now the front.. next the back? :P

So sad, I hope you can pay for all the stuff. _-_

it's very sad for those things to happen to you. are you hurt though?
if it's make you feel better. i don't have much luck with car too.
every single car that i had own and driven... three so far... had been in an accident of some sort.
i just bought a new one and now kinda afraid to take it out.

Good point, you could never part with a classic. But you could at least get it fixed.

Errrrr. I won't want to be in the same car as you (jk). I will be driving in 2 month, and I will probably be more rackless than you are.

aww I've been driving for about 3 years, just two things that couldn't be avoided, someone breaking into my car was dumb, mostly because they ended up taking nothing because I never leave anything in to take!
I drive lots almost every day, I guess its natural it'd get careless eventaully :P espically if its driving the same route every day, to and fro, the only random bits are when I go different places or to different jobs around site at work :P

I guess it would be boring driving on the same route every time, and one do get careless.

I think in the future I will have to be a bit more random with my routes that I drive to make me think more ^.^

Ohh that sucks....

That's crappy for you. If it makes you feel any better, I slammed on the gas one time instead of the brake and crushed the driver side door of my bf's truck. I was backing into the parking space next to his and realized I was on a conclusion course. owww... We're still together though and he is now driving my old car. It stil has paint on it from his truck.

thats so sad.......heyy...mayb it'll be like that stephen king story, CHRISTINE...it'll start killing your enemys.....which is pretty cool

DAmn that sucks. My mums friend has been in like 4 accidents in the past 2 years i think all not her fault. the last one she got rear ended by someone, they didnt have any insurance o_o;; plus their car was a bomb, well thats what i was told anyway

I spose it is a Ford afterall :P
