personally the hardest game is all Series of the WILD ARMS

maybe one of those shmups (shoot em ups, e.g. Raiden etc)

I would have to say the hardest game I have ever played is Anime Crossing. I just can't beat it. I have played it for a while, and yet nothing.

Ultima: Quest for the Avatar for the NES is the hardest ive ever played....been playing it for like 8 years and still havent beaten it, its so damn confusing

I haven;t really come across a game that I thought was really hard. Well except for Halo 2 on the legendary setting man is that hard to stay alive in.

Hardest game I played was Devil May Cry 3. Sadly I couldn't beat it in normal... I had to play it in easy mode.

Dino Riki for NES! I could never get further than the first stage. ; ; Granted I was like 8. Haha.

Any ID software game on Nightmare. Like Quake III or Doom3 or anything like that.
