having been active in this forum for about a month so far, i've noticed that
there are quite a lot of non-english speaking people who frequent minitokyo. so,
out of curiousity, i'd like to know whether you are an english speaker or a
non-english speaker.
to try and make things clearer, if you think your command of english is
relatively good, i.e. you don't usually make grammatical/spelling errors while
posting on minitokyo, or if you speak english a lot more than your native
language, i'd expect you to vote "english speaker", even if your first
language isn't english. my first language is malay, yet i happen to speak
english a lot more in uni and when i go out and such, so i consider myself an
english speaking person.
Sure i speak English. I don't always write it in the correct way but don't write
that many mistakes eather and i try to always check that that i have
writen.
But i don't speak English at home. Mostly Dutch or French.
I think of myself as an english-speaker,because i lerned english since i was 7
years old. It's not my mother language but i think i can make a normal
conversation if i want.If there's some word i don't understand i ask my sister
or look at my pc dictionary^_^
But i sense i started to forget english since i started to learn italian at
school
English is my native language, so I know how to clarify certain things that
other people say. I've been speaking English all my life, and only recently,
I've gotten better at doing so because of my experiences at college. My posting
at MT is usually understandable since I try to assess everything before I post,
and sometimes, I post without assesing everything because I already know what
the circumstances could be.
I'm multilingual, and english is amongst my languages.
My native language is spanish, since I'm from Mexico, so I wanted to try into
another languages, even those that does not exist, such as sindarin.
I'll communicate via "english" as long as I have to communicate to MT,
but when someone does require it, I will use any other of the languages I've
learnt, know, or trying to learn.
i only speak english when i have something to translate my polish into. That's
why now i'm speaking english because my computer automatically translates it.
I'm quite confused by your poll... well more exactly by the defintion you've
given. After all, for the first part there are people who make mistakes even
when they write in their native tongue, and the second part is harder to meet
for one who doesn't live in an english-speaking background.

basically, the poll asks whether english is the language you speak most often. i
probably should have made the poll question clearer, but most people have
understood it by the looks of things.
I'm English. Though I have noticed a wide variety of people. I like it though.
The Hispanic ones help me learn more Spanish because I translate their posts.

**Shoves the speakers out the window** Oh, I was regarding
to the lame speakers all hooked up over on my PC. lol - No worries. **Giggles**
Although its funny how people will be able to select the options in the poll if
they can't understand one single word in English. **Shrugs** Oh well, that would
truly be funny - wouldn't it, ne?
English evidently is my first language. After being force fed to learn how to
speak Korean, I kind of disregarded my mother's roots, and stuck more to the
majority of my English side. It only became evident that I followed suit with
French considering it was a mandatory course for Private School students to
learn here in Canada up until Grade 9, but after that, I gave up on French as
well, seeing that it wouldn't really benefit me in the long run. A few years
later though, I would follow interest and begin to fluently speak my second
official language: Japanese as well, especially without having any problems
pronouncing with the correctly used accent and the sorts. Let's just say I was
born to speak great Japanese. Yaya! **Giggles** Of course, you have to go there
to speak their language. **Nods**
I'm not an english person and I don't speak english very well... but I tried to
learn and practice from friends who can can speak english fluently. So if you
have some problem reading my post... my apologize

really farfetched your definition.
