Have in mind that all custom skins will be lost then.
If not: Mt3 will include a feature which let users choose a skins from all custom skins available and browse whole of Mt with it.

I'm in favor of allowing users the choice of skins. So I'll vote no.

It's always nice to start afresh and not feel confined by existing structures and constraints. I think that tossing the current layout will help give MT3 a completely fresh new look and feel and allow for us to do many things that we currently cannot because of the layout, and therefore I have no problems with the idea.

I vote no, if only because MT's been using this set of skins for a really long time, and the current arrangement of the layout for ever longer. More usage of customized skins is enough for me

Though I do support shinsengumi's point of a fresh new start.

I think that this layout is good. A change would be good, but I like this one, so I'll vote no.

I think a change is a good idea. But then again I am known to get bored of things way too quickly.

There should be some new elements, but I really feel strongly that the general "feel" of the site shouldn't change. I'm not sure what that means, exactly, but, well... make it so =)

Question. Sheqel, by "all custom skins will be lost," I assumed that you mean that all current custom userpage skins would be rendered irrelevant, not that there would not be the possibility of custom skins for the future layout.

Could you please clarify which of the two you meant?

yes any new layout would of course give possiblities of customization.

Edit: So we do have the ability to choose browsing layouts and still customize layouts for our userpage?

The UserpageSkinDesign group has made over 20 layouts using this current one, I don't see a problem with it [shrugs] but alas, I think if everyone else decides they'd like a new one i'm all for it

..would this feature be basically another submission category? a place where designers could design new layout and members could download them? that would be fun

... the only thing is that you wouldn't be able to see the custom userpages on their userpage, just the one you have right? ... hmmm.... still sounds neat to me

I say keep this layout and allow userpage layouts to be submitted by members, just like walls and scans then members can browse through them, and maybe if we can't see their layout on their userpage, maybe we could have a thumbnail of their current layout on their userpage? maybe on the left/right boxes?

I believe community websites such as Minitokyo should stick the same layout for a few years. But a change wouldn't bother me :P

Fresh new stuff are always good.

We just need to need to sacrifice somethings for them, like our current up layout.

I think that the layout change could be very refreshing and if we are still able to customize our userpages (later on, while losing the current ones) then I have nothing against that they are temporarily gone ^^

as said before: if mt3 gets a new layout all current custom skins are useless.

I'm content with the current skin of MT but a new layout would be rather refreshing ^^
since I haven't made usepage layouts yet, i dunno what it's like for others, but the pick and choose idea is quite nice. And if we could still customise our userpages, i don't mind the change. ^^
