paper cranes, stars whatever have you tried to do it? or have you ever had an
frustrating time making something, or had something funny go on with orgami...
I've made the paper balloons once... filling them up with water and throwing
them at people is fun...
In middle school in my english class as I recall the teacher had all of his
classes make X cranes so that it totaled 1000. I think I remember making a ball
or something before, but that has been a long time ago.
Ah... The wonderful tradition of making paper cranes. I
made paper cranes for my mother during her chemotherapy but I don't think I ever
reached 1000. I did make a valiant effort despite my poor dexterity, but I
found origami kind of difficult. And I have made those paper water balloons,
you're right throwing them at people is kind of fun. Oh
and as an explanation for anyone else who might not understand, the crane is a
sign of good health and longevity in Japanese culture I believe ( I might be
wrong on what it represents ). So it's a Japanese tradition to make 1000 paper
cranes for those who have fallen ill. I think that's it in a nut shell, there
is more history to the start of the tradition but I know history lessons tend to
bore most people.
The japanese legend says that if you make a 1000 cranes you are granted one
wish.
Isn't there a paper crane making machine out there? I think some japanese
engineer made it for the holiday that celerbates that crane tradition. I think
it made something like a couple hundred cranes per hour. I don't really
remember.
