I've been wanting to rip some of the in-game movies of alot of my PS2 game sto have on my computer since they are so cool ^^

So, I know one way to do this is by using a TV-In card and record it but I would like to copy the source file on the disc with the movie.

Anyone who knows how to do this and what is needed?

*I'm not sure if this tread is appropiate here, If it's not, please remove it. Thanks

Waiting for the answer also.

Whole lot of hard videos to get, especially for less popular games, bleh, hope this is legal if someone figures it out, pain if it ain't.

I think you can rip it from the game and have the copy only for yourself legally but I'm not sure since there are loads of different rules around copyright and they are different in many countries.

You're going to need a lot of ripping programs and file conversions. Try searching for it Google. There are usually a lot of forums out there that tell you what programs you need and how to do it yourself.

Nice sig BTW.

Me too! I'd love to know how.

It largely depends on the game and who made the game, the maker of one game would most likely use a different codec, different file structure and likewise than from a different maker. In most cases to rip game movies you would need software custom built to rip that particular game's movies. I remember that there was software out would rip the movies off of the old PS1 Final Fantasy games, but that was a long time ago it's likely that software has now vanished off the face of the internet

The most efficent way is to just record what you want via s-video to your tv capture card, it's what most professional game reviewers use anyway

anyone got a tutorial that could help me/us out?

The guys at www.doom9.org might be able to help you capture what you want, at the very least, everything you need is right there
