Ok I know all about piracy and all that but i am looking for a dvd ripper to convert my dvd's to DivX .AVI files, freeware programs if possible, I have only had my dvd in my pc for a few days so any help would be appreciated.

For DVD ripper I recomment DVD Decrypter or SmartRipper. As for video and audio encoding, the easiest to use is Auto Gordian Knot. I think the best way to start is to look for some guide, look up on www.doom9.org.

First You Will Have To Download DVD Shrink 3.2 (FREEWARE)
Then Use An Encoding Program Like DR.Divx(Not Freeware)

quite hard to find an encoder that isnt freeware....

'NO 1 DVD Ripper' To convert straight from dvd to divx,xvid,or mpg..but make sure you download the 'K-lite Mega codecs Pack' to actually convert to Xvid, Divx...etc

Well i say smartripper cause it's making a d2v file and that saves you time [i would say around five minutes ] Dvd decrypter to rip everything, even broken or corupt[scratches] dvd. Encoding with gknot, xvid for video and ogg for sound. Finally for file extension ogm or mkv.

I use DVD Shrink to rip the DVDs and i use Alcohol 120% to mount the ISO's and burn

DVDShrink to copy DVD .... as for ripping...well that's a long process and i forgot all the progz i'm using.. :P
