It could be a good idea to do a contest for a calendar. It's maybe early to
think about that, but days are moving so fast, and 2006 is coming so soon.
People could propose images for every months, and at the end of the contest we
could organize a little vote for each month to choose wich one will be used.
After that, it's just a rearrangement of images on a bigger ones, 3 to print,
some folds and that's all : calendar is finished. And with all the artists here
in MiniTokyo, this calendar will be better than anything else in shops.
Awesome! It reminds me of my school's calendar for the year 2005. We did it
specially for the Orientation Committee though. Hm... let me see... are you
saying that all types of images can be used? It's bext if you can explain it in
full detail though.
I remember suggesting a calendar last year as a fundraising opportunity,
although it was met with a lukewarm reception (mostly because at that point the
funds were mostly sufficient.)
The only problem is that we should not use copyrighted images - this means no
official artwork. That's the easiest way to keep out of any sticky situations.
This does mean, however, that we can use art drawn by MT members from the
doujinshi section, provided they give permission to do so. Perhaps we can use
some of the artwork from the character contest? There are some great MT-related
drawings and wallpapers there and it would further personalize the calendar as
being MT-specific, instead of a random mishmash of series (which will be
near-impossible to vote on, because everyone will have a different opinion, and
12 -- or 16 -- months is not nearly enough room for everyone's suggestions.)
hum... I wasn't thinking of a calendar that the staff of MiniTokyo will sell
later, but of a contribution by everyone in MiniTokyo for everyone : after this
contest, anybody could take the pictures, print it and have his "MiniTokyo
2006 calendar" in his bedroom. But the idea of using membres drawing isn't
bad, I saw very beautiful pictures.
I would love to have a calendar in my room from MT awesome artists!!! I agree
^^ but we should like list and decide what type of anime chategory will go in
the calendar or if all the images will be original. Of course I would like the
couple that appear in the manga of: "Mars" (handsome Rei Kashino and
cute Kira Aso) I think lots of girls will agree with me ^^

It's just an idea. But because it will be the MiniTokyo calendar, we should use scans and pictures from MiniTokyo, in manga style.

For this time I just want to see if MiniTokyo's people are interested. And if yes, we'll think about that
sounds real good to me, a new comer... I don't think I'm good enough to be part of this and help you out, but I'm sure I'll want to have a hand on it
