Resident Evil is better in my opinion. What about you?

Silent Hill all the way. Although I did play all the resident evils up to Code Veronica. One thing we can all agree on is they need to change the controls! Turn and run is such a pain. I'd really like to see a Silent Hill type game with Metal Gear Solid 2 gameplay/controls. Rest assured if some giant bloated cancer was running me down I would find a hiding place as soon as possible! Unless of course I had the katana

overall series, Silent Hill because it gives a better overall creepyness. Silent Hill 1 so far in my opinion the best out of the series.

Comparing the latest survival horrors, I think Fatal Frame II tops it off in my list. It's just so damn creepy.

Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill 4 look like it's going to be one hell of a decision to play. Both have awesomely new features and storylines seems highly promising, however, I'm more interested in Silent Hill series because it involves colt and gothic like themes as relation to past stories that has existed through our Western culture. Resident Evil isn't so scary because the story involves viruses turning people into zombies and it doens't give that old cold chiling fear that normally given off by Silent Hill.

i'd have to go with Silent Hill as of now, it has a much more scarier feel to it, but the new Resident Evil coming up looks pretty damn good

Definitely Silent Hill. Part three and four are beyond creepy and are pretty disturbing overall.

Silent hill have more quality and is more scary but Resident Evil is great too.

fatal frame =p but since that's not one of the choices, I would have to say resident evil since it was the first horror survival game I've played. The first one will always hold a special place in my heart

I got the Resident Evil Remake for Gamecube today....and I´m looking forward to Resi 4 as wall as Silent Hill 4 which looks very scary in the trailers

Silent Hill without a doubt. The atmosphere, storyline, characters and enviroments are all ahead of Resident Evil.

Silent Hill. Resident Evil just isnt scary, which is thr whole point.

However, Silent HIll doesnt do much better. I'd much rather play Project Zero/Fatal Frame.

anyone who plays Silent Hill 3 or 4 with the lights out, 1 or 2 in the morning, in an empty house that isn't their own, will come to understand why SH ownz Resident Evil....

Resi is fun, but if i had to choose (from a generic zombie frag-fest, or an immersive and creepy adventure with a better story to boot), i'd have to go with Silent Hill

Resident Evil is better in action, bosses, and weapons. It doesn't have a bad story too.

Silent Hill just got the creepy gameplay and environment. The bosses sucks and the AI is pretty much stupid. And it's only scary the 1st time around cause after that you can just run to avoid almost every enemy.

So... I go w/ Resident Evil.

I like both. They are different enough to not really be competing. Both series has some good games (Silent Hill 1 and 2, the original RE1, the remake and RE2) and some bad games (Silent Hill 4, re:cv, survivor).

silent hill is 10x scarier... o man ;; that is one freaky game... resident evil is fun but not scary at all ^^;;
