does one1 here make their own anime characters or just take scans from other walls

I actually tend to make up my own anime characters myself because I find that really entertaining. You have control over what your characters wear, what weapons they use, what their special abilities are, what jobs they take on, etc. However, if I'm to make up my own character, I would rather vector my own character so that other people on the internet could get an idea of what I like to make up.

I do I do! Actually my brother and I collaborate in doujin projects...I make the story and design...he does the pencils and ink and all the laborous stuff...the I color them and make them into wallie! Check my gallery if you can!

I make my own characters most of the time. It seems more fun doing so and its like putting a part of you in them

I make my characters, but I do like to try to copy/learn some other art styles and mix them a round in to mine.

Making your own character is fun to do. I start out by deciding on what personality the character should have.

i usually start with a mood - cute, dark, cool, sexy, whatever. Then I draw a rough face and the hair. At that point I either scrap it and start over, or I think about clothing. I often try various ideas on the sketch before I settle my mind.

Sometimes I have an idea for a story and need characters for it, that's difficult. I need to have the characters' looks according to their personality, so I need to draw them fitting instead of thinking of a personality for a blank drawn character. This is when you need to know various stylistic means like hair color and style, eye shape, poses etc.

i draw my own characters all the time...
i use to do fan-arts.. but it's more interesting when it's your own character...

like tamanegi... i start off with a mood... wat do i want my character to be like...
(most the time it be shoujo) or i'll think of a theme. i can't say i've done repeated drawings of the same character though. it's more fun in that you can put anything on--- have it wear anything --- be anything. the possiblies are fun to play with.

I like to make my own characters, but I haven't made a wall yet. I think I will just stick to drawing my own people because it just seems to be a lot of trouble to use a paint program.

I've been able to make a few but my Cousin is constantly pumping out good looking characters.

Me I do...I take the chars I see on tv,DVD,here at minitokyo.net and mix them of make a char based on them xD thus obtaining a new style.... Fav char to mimic or mix....Uchiha Sasuke....my fav naruto charXD

I draw my own characters sometimes, but I don't think they're good enough to go on wallpaper (and look good) yet .

hmm... i like making my own animes coz u get to make them as u like+ u have controll over their posture, weapons ,expression mainly ^^.!! i like making characters who seem to be with a weapon or kawaii charecters . i enjoy making them^^!!

I usually don't draw anime...I ma a person that draws usually sketches and especially I put the accent on the cloths'design(dream to be a cloths designer)!The only anime I draw is from Sailor Moon and mostly I draw anime just from my own inspiration,characters that don't exist in anime but look like anime!

I like drawing and making my own characters but they aren't nice to be put up in wallpapers or signature or avatars. I'm not very good. ^^;

I've made an anime! It's called Nafzia and it has around 40 characters (last time I counted ) I've made a comic about it but gave up so now it's stories. Nine so far!

I draw them to, and strangely enough, I get my ideas from my dreams and draw the characters. I need to scan them and put them on MT. (But my scanner doesn't work )

I usually draw my own characters.. I rarely do fan arts like what I submitted 4 days ago --(naruto fanarts)

I never think about my character's personality, I usually draw anything that comes in my mind, then if I happen to imagine a story.. then a personality that fits my character just appear in my mind that's why I really feel hard to draw anything with a given topic..

I draw my own characters... Anime/Manga is one of my influencial art forms.... H.R. Giger is another one of my influences... hmmm... I think I'll do a piece like that.... a combination of the two...

I've drawn ONE so far, check my gallery out if you want. It isn't the best picture, but I like it. I still do touch ups and add things to it.

My art consists of mainly original characters, i rarely draw fanart. the trouble of finding reference pictures to get every important feature into the character for fanart is to time consuming, even if i'm using my own style to draw the fanart. so original art for me...
