i'm midinette, newcomer for this community. may i ask, why my friend's artwork
been deleted?
refering to the reason as below:

The artwork/doujinshi you submitted entitled ayu by lunarfall was removed from
Minitokyo because it violated the following policy:
- The image was directly taken from another website or an image gallery, with or
without modifying. Such pieces cannot be uploaded at all; only artwork created
by yourself is allowed to be submitted in the IndyArt section.
Repeated violation of this rule will lead to banning.

it saying that it's taken from another website or an image gallery. yes, the one
i upload in here are artwork from my friend, he also used to upload at one art
community. i, myself know him, and if it saying i'm stealing , thats not true.
and if it saying taken from another image gallery, i'm stilll seeing people even
'stealing' from other bbs art, image gallery or a website. it is illegal too,
yet the person that take it and upload the picture here, even didnt inform the
respective owner or inform the picture that being upload to MT to the community
in that artwork gallery. i'm still not understand why it happen, even when
seeing people upload the image that taken from image gallery, without getting
deleted. and very sad, when i know some of the user here easily upoad the
picture, without telling any information regarding the owner. this is so
terrible. i want to hear from admin, about this situation.
this is my 2nd time my image upload getting deleted, and it even saying i might
get banned if my upload image going to be deleted.
the 1st one is my wallpaper, and it getting deleted because of the quality
needed. i understand about because i didnt know at first place regarding the
qualification for the wallpaper.
and as for my 2nd image that i upload, i think it's so unreasonable. there,
around MT 'ALOT' of image that being taken from another image gallery or bbs
artwork. this is so terrible.
please, i want to know more about this, and after seeing the message regarding
banning for the 2nd time getting deleted, it is so avoidable anymore for me to
upload any image, as it 'will' getting deleted. i dont know why this situation
happen.
Take some advice, make everything yourself and read the gallery guidelines
carefully.
Scans from other places are ok because you can't make them, you scan them.
Wallpapers though- think about getting faves on something you didn't make.. and
there are copyright issues as well. Just make sure everything you submit is
yours... and of good quality... that way you don't need to get those messages or
strange comments from people
Well, if the artwork you uploaded is not your work, then I'm guessing you
shouldn't be submitting them here in MT.

I guess this sums it up for you. As for others who violate MT rules, it's
difficult to be able to identify every single breach of MT policy because it's a
manual process. If it bothers you, maybe you can help out by reporting such
submissions? ^^

how about the picture that being upload in here and it is from other bbs art or
image gallery? i see alot of the picture that are not by user, it's stealing
from others, yet they doesnt get the deletion. as for the copyright issue, if
you mention about the mangaka artwork that already been licensed by other
company like TokyoPop, i understand. just how about if the artwork is by someone
not from MT and being use upload in here? you know, from the bbs art or image
gallery website, it happen when people use to advertise their work, sometime to
hear the response but unfortunately, people in MT use to upload it here without
any informing is still not getting delete. it is more like stealing? maybe
people are so 'secretive' when uploading the image and doesnt talk about the
picture, like giving credit.
and as for indy art section, thank you unicorn2006 for telling me. i never know
that.

If you see members uploading artwork
that they haven't made themselves, then you just simply report the artwork, and
eventually it will be removed. Because of the obnoxiously high rate of
submitting gallery items here at Minitokyo, it's difficult to keep track of what
has already been submitted. On top of that, there are only a few members who are
willing to go around and check for the submissions that do not meet the minimum
requirements or that exceed the limits listed in the policy.
Are you talking about scans? If you're saying that they took a scan from
sometoher wbesite and post it in MT, that one... I don't really understand how
did that happened myself. ^^ But if you think that's unfair, then all you have
to do is just report it to the administrators. Simple as that.

hm... i've given some credit to a place where i got the scans from, however.. about the pics you're uploading, is it a doujinshi or a wallpaper ?
