What is the hacker's purpose?

Up until now the hacker's terror strikes in MT...
Like the admin, Sheqel, as a banned member!? Or some noobs becoming Elites!?
Like WTF is this? (But Sheqel turning into a banned member was kinda funny though... No Offense!)
What do you think is the hacker's motives?

I for one think he has a certain grudge on MT...

So what is you opinion on this matter?

they just like being assholes i guess

Really??? wow this hacker is good. :o ........yeah prolly has a grudge on Mt.

I guess this is the beginning of Mts demise??? *joke!* ;)

They have no life so all they can do is mess stuff up because they're mad. They have but one purpose. To screw you over in the worst way.

Look, the original plan for a hacker was to prove to the people they were hacking that they could do it, and thus send out a message to say that they need to increase they're security.
This guy is really as good as everyone says he is, then he technically doesnt exist. As there is no such thing as an elite hacker. However if this was pretty much just a lucky break, then he will PROB be caught.
Note: Hackers should never reveal who they are.
My curren theory is that people who constantly create threads about this or post about this/these hackers are actually the 'hackers' themselves
Cheers

Hackers hack sites like this cuz they want to piss people off. >_>

You guys all dont understand hackers at all. `_`
Normally, a hacker hacks because he/she can, and it gives him/her something to do. That hacker may hold a grudge on the organisation he/she hacks, but normally, he/she wouldnt of bothered to hack them if their network/website/program/foobar is pretty secure, and very hacker-proof. In other words, the hacker hacked, because Minitokyo is not all that secure, and he/she found a security hole in MT's software that he/she could take advantage of.
[/rant]

lol, i was waiting for someone who actually knew the reasons behind a hacker ^^
As for everyone else, dont start judging people just because they did something.

maybe they got nothing better to do?

Quote by Satsugaimaybe they got nothing better to do?

That's usually true (and I would know :-).

That jackass just wanna practice his hacking skills and it happened that minitokyo becomes his or her guinea pig. .

Grudge against some of the mods might also counts as his or her reason. .

Attetion, and the feeling they have when they ruined someone's life...

WTF, the founder of MT got banned!!!!! i guess the people of MT overthrown him of this position because of the 10 faves per week rule!

its just like in the philippines, if the people dont like the president, they make a rally or as we philippinos calll it "People Power" and tries 2 overthrown the president!

i agree with you (though i'm not a hacker! gah i can barely figure out how to download certain programs -__-''') i was reading something in a magazine and it sad 'Hacking is not a crime' and i guess its were a whole bunch of people who can hack systems and stuff go there and hack or something..>__> can't remember. But yeah some people do hack and tell you that you need to get better security, thats nice of them when you think about it though, but the ones who totally crash your computer are mean...lol oh yeah i just found out about this hacker person...i saw one thread earlier but paid no attention to it. Though you have to give em' some credit, they're pretty smart...-__- it makes me feel really dumb, i brealy know how to use the computer myself! gah >__<
well thats my opinion, hope it doesn't p.o anybody.

Damn Stright!
Hacking isnt technically a crime, its supposed to help the community. However some hackers just take ti too far. See, hackers dont boast about the fact that they can hack, so those threads about 'reveal yourself to me hacker' are just thread to make the 'threader' look like a good person and so they can become an elite member.
OK maybe this particular hacker did take it a little far without leaving any markings of what their purpose was, but now we all know that MT need a bit mroe security. No offence to any mods/admins. I am fully aware that websites can only haev so much security placed on them.
There was a story about a particular hacker, who got into a kids computer and told him as an mp3 file to upgrade his internet security and stop looking at material that he shouldn't be. Thos eare the real guys. Then agian, they dont exist (*ghost sounds*)
^_^=V

really? that would be werid getting a Mp3 file of the hacker person O__O but at least they're trying to help the kid. You never know some may exist! as ghosts *plays ghost busters theme* (i forget how that goes..) lol, though i've heard a teenager went to jail for hacking. It must have been pretty bad since its 'technically not a crime' though i agree some people do take it too far.
i wonder just how much security they can have (see how unknowagable i am of computers? grrr)

thats weird him getting banned since he's the founder...but i wasn't to happy with the new fav rules anyways ehehe..lol though he can always change him being a banned member can't he? he did found it...

was this post pointless? i hope it wasn't sorry if it is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>__<

They probably either do it for the challenge or just enjoy being asshats.

Probably bored and thought "Hey, I know what will be good for a laugh..."

without impeachment trials... ha ha :D

but the hacker is really cool. I admire him/her :nya:

Alot of people seem to think that crackers can just hack whatever site they want, whenever they feel like it; like suddenly they decide that they want to hack a website, and they are normally able to do it.

It is not like that. Sure, hackers/crackers might hack something when they are bored, but it is not whatever site they feel like, and it is not whenever they want. An attack happens when a hacker just happens to stumble accross a possible exploit, and decides to see what he/she can do.

Quote by ChaosLokiThey probably either do it for the challenge or just enjoy being asshats.

For a challenge, yes, to piss people off, almost never.

I don't get what everyones problem is. The attack that occured was a grey hat hack. No serious or permanent damage occured to Minitokyo, and hopefully as a result, Sheqel has found the hole, fixed it, therfor making Minitokyo a bit more secure. Almost all crackers/hackers are not the evil, bad people that the media like to make you believe they are.

Wow, you really know your hacking shi... stuff
Has anyone heard of the two hackers who got into a US nuke silo?
apparently they were like 15 and 16 yeras old and had never mat each toher in real life, thye just happened to meet in a chat room one day. The thing is that they could have launched a nuke at a whim. THey didn't of course <_<
But essentially it told the US nuke silo it need heaps more security. But yeah, back on topic, the reasons behind a hacker or for some reason called a cracker.... is that they are there to tell us that we need more security throughout our computers,
they are not there to destroy stuff or damage shi..stuff
Cheers

amen... although Sheqel was aware of the hole before the 'attack'. It's not a real attack and I'm not a real hacker, it's just that it's way too easy to get admin privileges at MT. Besides as AdventSX says a hacker usually cover his track, I'm not doing it, I'm giving them tips to get to me, it really dissapoint me to see that with all the information I have leave behind they hadn't detect who I am.

Btw, if I had to be consider a Hacker I would like to be consider a White Hat one.

And a piece of advice: don't store private information at PMs, anyone can take your account and read them

really? havent heard that a hacker is on the loose here in MT. that hacker is pretty intelligent though. yeah i heard Sheqel is banned here and im just surprised with it. hackers motive? dont know, im not a hacker anyway though im planning to be one. LOL.

i guess that hacker just like to ruin things down in this peaceful community. if he needs attention, he/she better introduce himself/herself for proper citation and recognition. i guess he/she just wants it because its his/her pleasure to do such a thing, nothing more and nothing less.

Wow, that hacker's pretty cool! Wonder who he/she is?
