im going to be a senior in high school once school starts back up for me on
august 16 and once im done witht hat my plans are to go to FIU (if you live in
florida youll be familiar with this name) and take japanese for 2 years before
heading off to japan to study animation over there.
i was wondering if anyone here has taken japanese and if so hows the course
like. what do they teach you, what kind of assignments do you get, etc... do
they stick to language only or do they teach kanji, katakana, hiragama and other
things as well?
aw your so lucky. i wish my high school had that but we only have french and
spanish and since im already hispanic i took the easy way out and just got ym 2
years of spanish ^^. my school doesnt even have german which id also love to
learn.
My high school offered Spanish, French, and Latin. I wish they had a Japanese
language course. Although my Spanish teacher was Japanese.
My college has the same. They just started offering a Chinese language course
this spring.
*Very jealous* You have a Japanese course? We only have manditory spanish and
optional french.. Good luck in learning the language, though. I'm learning by
myself. If you're not sure on how to pronounce them, there's a site (Very old)
that I go to; It has a 'midi' on how to say it. Here's the URL:
I'm studying Japanese as an elective course at my university and this is my
third semester studying the language.
We are taught how to speak, read and write in Japanese.
I learnt to write hiragana, katakana and some simple kanji in the first
semester. And of course, more difficult kanji and sentence structures are taught
to us as we progress to higher levels.
I've been taking japanese at my high school for 3 years now. My friend is gonna
be taking in japanese 5 next year because he took it in middle school too. I
find the language quite easy until you get to the kanji. I despise kanji. So
hard to learn them. From what i've been taught in the class i should know
about... 150-200 kanji i think, i probably only know half of them, and not
learning anymore over summer break doesn't help much either.
My teacher was giving us assignments that either came out of this workbook we
had or things he made himself. First year we learned romaji, hiragana and
katakana along with basic speach stuff. We got into kanji second year. And last
year i started despising the kanji.
ohayo gozaimas minna!
