Hardware, Software & Internet

Currently I'm using a wireless connection provided by my college. The speed is kinda nice... but the problem now... my Bit Comet won't run in it's normal speed since it won't connect with REMOTE PC....

And as far as I'm concern... the only way to solve this problem is through Portforwarding. The problem is now.... is it possible to portforward a wireless connection???

*It's a pain in the ass to download via torrent right now... an average Gundam Seed Destiny episodes takes around 4 to 6 hours to complete.....

You would have to do whatever you'd normally do on a wired Ethernet network (since WiFi is basiclly just Ethernet over microwaves).

Wireless is simply a medium for a network to work over, so whether you're on a wireless or a wired network port forwarding is both possible and excuted in the same way.

Gosh.... the problem is... I was unable to get into the configuraton page.... don't know what's wrong.... this wireless connection I'm using... I need to pay it monthly.... perhaps they use somekind of password or block me???

Well... basically I've just need to enter the Default Gateway right??? somekind like

http :// 190.100.0.1/ and then just proceed like how I do it normally on normal router right??

Or do I need to perform something else???

If you're wirelessly connected to your college's network, I think you can't use port forwarding since you don't have access to the network configuration (only the network administrator can modify it : you could try to ask him if he can do something but I'm not quite sure he'll agree...). You could enable port forwarding if you had a personal modem/router connected to Internet like I do. (I have an Inventel wireless modem/router)

Hm... this explain a lot on why I'm still unable to access the configuration site.

So... mainly the problem now is... only with the permissionof the system administrator... can i portforward my pc.... right???

huh!!! -_-

Guess I'll have to say bye-bye to portforward and just download Gundam Seed Destiny for 6 hours which usually only takes 1 hour ++ with my current wireless speed....

Or perhaps I should discuss a little with my system admin??? ^_^'

I wouldn't try it, he'll most likely dob you in to the cops, and you've be in big trouble then.

You'll have to get your own internet connection if you want any port forwarding. :-(
Are you sharing residence with some other roommates? If so, and they use the internet alot, you could share your own connection, and devide the cost.

Gosh!!! You're totally right my friend. I'll be in trouble if I do so.... ^_^'

i like the idea of getting my own internet connection.... but it seems imposible here since the administration wouldn't allow me to do so. Afterall... I'll need a phone line if I'm about to do soo......

Perhaps another wireless??? But I believe I wouldn't be able to port forward it if it were another wireless.....

~sigh... :(
