Nowadays, don't all parents want their kids to do medicine or law? But
seriously, to me I reckon doing pharmacy is better. If you don't think about the
money that you recieve when you are a doctor compared to pharmacist, I would
think pharmacy is better.
You get to know all the medicines that you eat/drink for common cold/flu etc.
But doctors don't always know what is best.
Sometimes when something simple can be bought through the chemist, the doctors
would give them perscriptions. And in the end when you go to the chemist, the
pharmacist would know what is best.
Lolz. I know that from experience. I just started working in a chemist, omg! So
hard!
well i think that both are needed... who's there to open up your body and work
on a beating heart to 'maybe' save your life? etc.... i mean pharmacist can't do
that i guess lol
but it's true that they know the medication better (but it depends, some
specialities in medicine have to know them well, like bacterio-virologists,
anaethesists for the sleeping drugs etc...). but it's true the pharmacist is
closer to the realm of pharmacopia
plus i usually ain't sick, and my mother's a doc, so she knows what to give
me... and i'm in 2nd year of med school too, today's my first day..... oooops
gonna be late lol
I think that if you want to become a pharmacist do it! Yeah i know that lots of
parents want their kids to become doctors and lawyers, BUT a lot of them
actually don't realize one really important thing. Doctors first of all don't
get paid THAT high compared to other jobs now a days, don't get me wrong they
still get paid a lot, but i know many other jobs that i think are much more fun
that get paid wayyy more. And lawyers, well there are so many of them now, that
most have to settle being little legal offices that don't get much money. A
pharmacist now a days gets paid really well too, like close to if not the same
or more than doctors, aside from actually being more interesting than doctors, i
think they actually know more than docotors too, because they have to know
everything a doctor does as well as how to make the medicines and they invent
new ones too. But ya, I trust pharmasicts over doctors, haha,a i've met some
doctors who've told me stuff that even I knew was wrong...sheesh, you really
hafta wonder how some doctors get their degrees...haha. Anyways I personally
think a pharamcsit is better, I have friends taking it at university and they
all love it too!

Well i don't really know about that fact, but doctors here in Aus get paid
"on average" about $250 000 a year. Thats like quater of a million
ands its quite alot compare to other jobs. Anyways, yeah pharmacy is the way to
go, being a pharmacist is less stressful compared to a doctor because all you
have to do is read the prescription and find that medicine, and also, the pay is
good too. While doctors have to stress about their own health and in giving the
right medicine, and doctors are not needed these days, well im my area there's
plenty of them =).

lolz. exactly! Pharmacist don't have to do
as much work, they only need to learn the medicines and doctors have to make new
medicines etc.

yeah pharmacy is a good thing. i really like the idea. you can help ppl.
that remind me of the movie called 51st state
haha... ok.. this is like an old old post.. i know O_O.. haha.. i just stumbled
upon it as i just got bored n started hunting for wallpapers.. bwahaha...
anyway...
i'm in med school, and uhm, for me, i'm in this 6 year programme, which is 5
years of medicine, n one year of pre-med... and boy, in pre-med, we have to
learn what the pharmacy n physio students learn. the same chemistry (albeit they
just got rid of the practicals, which make chemistry real boring.. --> I love
blowing up stuff n mixing 'em ...
my course doesn't do the general chemistry only, it also correlates it to the
medicine we see around us.. like panadol, aspirin, and more amongst others.. i
can't remember how its like in sydney, since i couldn't get into there with my
UAI... but yeah, as far as i can see, there really isn't too much difference
between medicine and pharmacy, in the beginning anyway o_O... and as for the
"every doctor in med school is told that all prescriptions given out are
toxins" bit... uh, i'll return at another time on that. But usually,
medication prescribed are usually toxins. and they're prescribed so that you
don't get an overdose from buying it over the counter.. that's what i understand
anyway. haha... take it from a guy who comes from more or less, a family of
doctors :P
i have a friend who does pharmacy, and pharmacy is a good career, in my opinion,
but again, that depends where you are... if it was me though, since i intend to
work in malaysia (my base, the only home i love as much as i do :P)... then i'd
be working my backsides into obscurity to get into specialisation, although, i'm
not ruling out living in sydney.
haha.. well, from a fella who is just bored (and had too much fun in his first
year of uni...), i better get off this place n get studying.
whatever you choose, do what your heart wishes you want to do.. i chose medicine
because i wanted to do it, not because i'm the youngest of four siblings, who
has his three older brothers doing medicine or are all doctors...
bwahha... ok, i'm babbling at this rate... :S haha.. hope nothing is confusing..
just message.. i'll reply when i get the chance... hehe...
It depends on what type of doctor you are, if you are just a new recruit and all
you do is check up (although its very vital) they shouldn't get paid nearly as
much as like a orthopedic surgeon. Like my grandfather who was an orthopedic
surgeon and was that for like all of his life, he should get paid as much as he
did (now he is dead, but he died a good life ^^).
I do think pharmacist's are very very vital to, we should have more of them and
very well traind ones. I think more people should be one. ^^
Now for lawyers, gawd no more. I hate them, almost as much as a
politican.
If you became a pharmacist, That would be a very good thing to be as a job and
for people ^^

Hmm..when I'm sick usually I went to the doctor to have my medicine....I think I cure faster with the real prescribe medicine^_^

Every doctor in medical school is told that all prescriptions they give out are toxins. Trust in their poison trade-off.
oh.....right....how is that?
where did you get that information o.0'' I'm really curious
I woud love to become a pharmacist when I grow older, and get into uni. I think it'z a really good career ^^ I dunno bout you guys
