when u finish a drawing on paper do u guy outline it with ink and then scan it for coloring (CGing) or do u just scan your drawing and then outline it with a art program? i tend to draw partially on paper and then outline it in photoshop. i use the Line tool and most of the time i get blocking looking drawings? is there any better way to go around it, outlining your drawing?

My bro sketches his art in pencil and scans that into the computer as is. Instead of using the line tool, he uses the paths selection tool. This tool is extremely useful once you learn how to use it. It makes perfectly clean curves lines. You just outlne your sketch using the paths tool, then stroke PATH however you want to.

thx for the info sonryu. That really helped!! All i have to do now is....learn how to use the paths selection tool now.

it's the pen tool, not the path selection tool, there are various tutorials on the internet showing the basics of suing this powerful tool. just look it up in google, you'll surely find a decent tutorial to this..

I use the pen tool as well in PS; regular inking and scanning just doesn't cut it. The pen tool allows smooth lines for eaiser cging

thxs Limality and endlesss.
