Most rap is about all those things you mentioned. Yet there are some
exceptions. Those who rap about the importance of working hard to realize your
dreams, and the like. However I bet many would agree that most rap, and by that
I mean what is being played in the streets, clubs, on the radio, is indeed about
drugs, money, etc. Now if you like rap, good for you. I'm not here to judge
you. Learn to respect other people's opinions before you start criticizing and
calling them ignorant. Just a thought.

this thread did, but a friend of mine introduced me into some hip hop stuff that
was really different and like nothing of that genre i'd heard before
I live in Columbus, so rap is about 80% of the city, the rest of Columbus is
either country, rock, gay, all of thee above or their stereo was stolen enough
times for them to give up .
And Ive been listening to everything since I was little. I must admit the newer
rap is very low quality compared to the old...but I could say the same with rock
too...But needless to say that is the way the music indrustry works and then
we'll hit a new trend..people obsess..it dies down..even annoys...and the

i just enjoy good music, it's the best outlook on the whole situation. if you're
tied down to particular genre then you can't appreciate all the other genuinely
