I have some music files on my computer... for example -nameofsong.ogg- ... now,
what's .ogg?! Does anyone know how I'd go about converting this file into
something else?
I can only play the .ogg files through winamp but I use Musicmatch Jukebox...
Sure, I can just use winamp as my default and use that to play everything
else... but I'd rather not.
Ill take ogg over mp3 anyday (as long as its a high bitrate). You probably dont
have all the codecs installed to play it on all your players. If you must
convert it though, do as croix said. You'll find pages and pages full of
software.
dbPowerAmp Music Converter is free, and you can install all types of additional
codecs to convert one format to another (ape, ogg, mpc, mp3, wav, etc). If
you're looking to convert, I recommend this all-purpose one.
I would convert id directly to mp3, not via wav or cd. I'm always a bit
panicking about the quality.
My winamp version can convert ogg to mp3, so maybe you can use that.

It is not free.
They want $14 after a month if you want to encode mp3.
Oh yeah, that's right, I actually did pay for mine. It was just so long ago I
forgot there was a fee ^_^; (I'm sure cracks can be found for those so willing).
I use winamp to convert & play my files I have been winamp user from version
2 so know it in and out and don't have problems you can get extra convertors for
it if running version 5.09 or under havn't tried as of yet.

Easy CD Extractor should do the trick, it's a good program for converting/ripping.
