I guess Devil Man of, well, Devil Man. Actually, I think he's more of an anti hero, like Batman and Spawn are. But, uh, hmm.... He's the only one I can think of as of now.

Himura Kenshin of Rurouni Kenshin and...um...can't think of anyone else right now.

Hmm... Shima from Stellvia, Yomiko from Read or Die, and Cagalli (does she count as a hero? I guess... not in the fireman or Marvel way... but yeah) from Gundam Seed... yep. I think the female heros in anime are much cooler.

For the guys though, Kenshin from Kenshin and Sosuke from Full Metal Panic =)
