well, i think that the death penalty is a tad extreme in this case. personally,
i'm disgusted by people who would so such a thing... but, i remember reading
somewhere that most child molestors were often molested as children themselves,
so in some cases it's a psychological thing. for those people, i think that if
they get some professional help (in addition to serving time) and reform
themselves, then they should be allowed to try and start their lives over. i
think that the major factor in determining punishment should be the severity of
the act.
i know some people are going to flame me for this part or whatnot, but
whatever...what really bothers me is when a former child molester tries to move
into a community and the community rallies to keep him out, even if he hasn't
done anything for like 20 years or something... the whole "not in my

and the person is mentally ill, the death penalty probably wouldn't be just.

i had a friend who was molestered back in primary. we didnt know it at first,
but his attitude changed towards everyone. he was so quiet aferwards. we only
found out after his family moved out of the area, and i never heard from him

they've just been exposed at a younger age. Everyday new hazards and incests are
brought into this world, they just got a little piece of it. And you have to
think about what happened in their past, were they abused this way too? They
were probably taught that it was alright. So once again, don't judge a book by

And about the death sentencing, noone but god has the choice to give or take

get re-offenders, for a start. I don't agree with it, personally, but it

If you really want to stop them from reoffending that badly, and don't want to
give them counselling (or don't trust that it will work)... Well, there's always

all i know is i have a friend who was and they never found the guy. she is still bothered by it and it happened when she was young and she is over 21.
