I want to post AMVs (anime music videos) at animemusicvideos.org, but I haven't
got a clue how!! they keep saying I need an FTP, but WTF is that and how do I
use it?! plz help me!
FTP is easy to set up and there are many free programs that you can download so
all you need to do is a little research, I have a friend that set up one so he
can download his MP3s from anywhere where he can get an internet connections ^_^
u can get iqswitch or something like that, i forget the name. their just
programs that lets interact through the net. (FTP=fill transfer protocol).
people usually use FTP to store files online, or to make websites.
To make websites you need a HTTP server, FTP is for transfering files only. I
run both a FTP and a HTTP server so I can access my MP3s and even some AVIs from
anywhere with internet. I can download some pretty big stuff since my connection
has a rather speedy upload. I personally use bulletproof FTP server and SmartFTP
or leechFTP clients (depending on if I am uploading or downloadng and what).

Well, technically HTTP is only
the transfer protocol; web pages are HTML of one version or another, sent via
HTTP, like many files are sent via FTP. And you can send files by HTTP as well.
