I'm in College now, and it seems to me that less and less people are going to college. For me college has always been a goal of mine in order to succeed in life and have a successful career doing somthing I love.So I've decided to host a survey.
The Question is:
How many of you MTers plan on going, are currently goig,or have been to College?

If you take a look at this thread please post. This for a paper I writing and I need as many participants as possble!*groveling on the ground*

Given the fact that there are quite a number of threads on this topic already (see search results), if you need to find out which MTers plan on going, are going, or had gone to college, just take a look at any one of the existing threads.

Please search before creating new threads to avoid duplicating existing ones.

my plans are to attend a four year college, and major in Digital Design and Photography. Every year less and less people are able to afford an university, or simply begin to work in highschool, and are soon making more money than they can handle, and really have no need to go to college, some people have all the luck. Quite frankly though, if I didn't want to be someone in life, I wouldn't be planning on college, I have no interest whatsoever in education or learning any further, but in this life one must work for bright results.

ok then.

i actually went into college (University of Rochester, excellent academics) straight out of high school... which turned out to be a big mistake. after three semesters of flucuating grades, hair-yanking, and head-on-table-banging, i took Leave of Absense and came home.

its been almost (will be in Jan 06) two years hence. and while it took me six months to find my first paying job, i held that for 9 months of difficult self-help, alongside the actual workload. in Sept 04, i found something that seemed much more interesting, and took it. by Dec 04, that first job was out of the picture.

two years is the limit for Leave of Absense from Univ of Roch, so i most likely wont go back in Jan 06. instead, i figure i'll continue what i've been doing, taking courses here and there at different CUNY schools, exploring the entry-level courses of different, technically-oriented degrees.

it's been a long, slow, painful two years, and there's still much more that i want to change about myself. as my own experience suggests, however, college isn't always the best place for it.

shiawase (good luck), sarai. college is full of opertunities, but its a big pond, and makes it very easy to start feeling like a little fish.

I'm going to college next year. Education is very important for me so I try my best enter a school that provide excellent education.

Currently in college and appending for electrical engineering.

I'm going to go to college for 2-4 years for a job in the health field. I'm pobably going to become a rad-tech or something close to that. Not exactly sure yet though.

I have just started college this year, goin for chem major, good luck everyone!!

That is quite a story, as I pretty much endured a testament of my own, in which I myself would find a little more or less enlightening nonetheless.

With bell-curving tactics severing any sort of apprehension and a fail rate beyond astronomical norms. - I too have realized over time that these prestigeous Universities aren't for the ones who are the most able to study. Instead of learning a great deal of information that could collectively improve your sense of understanding towards a specific profession [which most universities should intend to do more often] - rather, it is strictly based for those who basically are the most willing to study. That is, cramming tons of seminar notes and lectures through force of memorization is what drove many of my colleagues AWOL [Absent Without Leave], and the learning process is a little bit lacking in everyone's parts. Too many things do run amiss in such a tangled up web of society.

Aside from that, I am now currently attending the RIU, specializing in Business Administration, Marketing, Entrepreneurship, and Financing. I will complete my accelerated bachelors of Business Administration [Finances] degree next Spring, following further studies in Majors for an additional two more years, and hopefully obtaining a side dish of an Economics Bachelors degree somewhere down the line as well. Ahh, the appraisal of international studying, indeed.

Well College is a good place. I have been to Uni for bachelor plus getting my Master degree (Yeah, I am soo old) Though I didn't do my Phd, I still think study is much better than working.

This is my first year of college. Last year, as a senior in high school, I had given thought to taking a year out and joining the work force. Thank goodness for parental intervention! I hadn't gotten into the college I'd originally applied to, so I'm at a community college in the transfer program for two years, then after next year, I'm going to transfer to The Ohio State Univerity (I live in OSU territory). It's cheaper, and certainly better for those who aren't sure if college is for them.

Currently in 3rd year computing science.

I've been in college for 4 years exploring different classes on top of my CS/electircal engineering major(s). It's a bleak future I see, everyone is moving overseas here in America. I don't plan on moving any time soon overseas, nor does the market seem to have a good outlook in that field anymore. I have another 4 years left, I put on hold, cause a masters degree needs funds - currently working on being the best at everything - even if I'm not the best at what I do, it's a personal best. Sounds cheezy, but that's life.

i'm hoping to start at the Art Institute of Tampa next year, but I have to get my application in first...
