As the Subject states, what got you into japanese relating things? (Anime,
Manga, Sushi, Japanese Language, Different cultural things)
*edited*
Oops, I just realized I should probably say how I got into the whole thing too.
Well when I was younger, I had watched Sailormoon and Dragon Ball on TV. Thats
where it basically started for me. But it probably really took off in high
school when I met people that watched anime also and decided to take Japanese as
well.
Hmm...I guess my friend. Since she was the one who introduced me to
anime...manga..that stuff.
And after that. I guess after i got to know and like anime more. I was more
intrested in japanese stuff.
I'd say for me it was kind of a chain reaction- D&D got me into medieval
weapons and combat, which led me to the whole samurai/ninja ethos, which led me
to games like "Shingen the Ruler" for NES and "Shogun: Total
War" and the like. Then I read some books in the library and I was like,
whoa, most of that stuff actually happened!
Then a buddy of mine showed me his Evangelion tapes, I came across a Love Hina
background and got curious, started reading the mangas. I remember laughing so
hard people around me were asking me "are you OK?" ...Aaaand it
progressed from there. This sound familiar to anybody?
Well, anime and manga is what started it. I was also always interested in
martial arts. Then I saw some documentaries and I liked the history and culture.
Recently the language too and well, now I'm in for good.
