I don't read many comics apart from manga because I don't know good tittles. The
only ones I read were SkyDoll (by Barbucci & Canepa), about a robot-doll
used for sex that runs away in a spaceship; and Black Sad (by Diaz Canales &
Guarnido), a detective story using animals as characters.
A few marvel titles here and there. I used to read nothing but american comics
until about 12 years ago when I started getting into manga. Now the majority of
my comic purchases are mangs. Right now I get Blade of the Immortal, Mega Man,
Battle Angel, Mermaid Saga (Mermaid Scar for those of us that remember),
Hellsing, Ranma 1/2, Bastard, Genshiken (Story of my life), Full metal panic,
Tenchi Muyo, and Evangelion (Wish they would get back on the stick and get more
out!). Good times.
Ai Yori Aoshi, without a doubt. Ah! Megami-sama! has awesome art, so I love
looking at Kosuke Fujishima's art. Maison Ikkoku is a great story too. It's
really a shame how far downhill Rumiko Takahashi has gone. Urusei Yatsura and
Maison Ikkoku were awesome. Ranma 1/2 and Rumic Theatre were good, but Inu Yasha
does illicit things to farm animals.
Mangas I like to read: Perfect Girl Evolution (or Wallflower as Viz calls it),
Meru Puri, Ouran Host Club, Skip Beat, Neck and Neck and Vampire Game

I used to be into American comics, but really, I can't read most of them
anymore. Of the stuff out there I do read, I like Young Avengers, from Marvel
Comics, of all things, the characters are extremely well-written and the art's
awesome, I actually look forward to it, and I haven't been able to say that in a
while.
I used to be a die-hard fan of the Legion of Super-Heroes from DC (no, really),
but the current incarnation of the book is lame, and I can't read it. Other than
that, I still keep an eye on some indie titles, but stuff like the X-Men or
Batman Begins seem to work better in movies than in comic books, at least for
me. ;-)

Ultimates, Lenore, Ojo, Runaways,and Ghost Rider. A few that haven't had titles
in a while that I loved were Cloak & Dagger, Sentinel and Moon Knight.
Manga: Battle Royale, Gunslinger Girl, Negima, Azumanga Daioh and Battle Vixens.
I don't really collect many mangas. I don't have the money.:(
Where U.S. comics are concerned, I've been collecting for inside of 2 decades
(though I'm ever trimming them no thanks to rising costs).
For the record, my favorite character is Captain America ("Cap" being
half of my handle) and I regularly pick up his title, Aventers-related titles,
and a few others from Marvel these days. Overall, however, I'm actually an even
bigger DC fan and concentrate on favorites like the Justice Society, Justice
League, Superman, Batman and a good number of Gold & Silver Age characters
from Flash to Adam Strange and in-between.
I'd go into more detail but all my favorites would be a loooong list.
As far as Manga is concerned, I'm currently picking up: Ah! My Goddess, Sakura
Taisen and the Sunwell Trilogy (limited). Looking for a couple of others to pick
up regularly but haven't quite found 'em yet.
