First of all, Ichirin no Hana is the title of the recent Bleach opening. <3 And I am completely in love with it. <3 And I know that there are 2 girls in the wallpaper, but they are sooo glued together so yeah... Ichirin. XD Besides, it really fits their expressions and their pose and just, you know, fits. ^^

Okay. About the creation of the wall. The girl in the yellow kimono had text all over her kimono. And the text was huge. +____+' So I thought about vectoring them, but then decided against it since vectoring would ruin the artwork. Besides, it's difficult to vector something you don't actually see because of the text. >_< Uh, so I painted. Painted the details on the girl's kimono. And I am sure you won't be able to figure out where exactly the nasty text was. Hahahahahaha. +___+

The bg. I like it. ^^ And I like the whole composition of the wall. It looks simple, but it took me 40 or something layers to make it look, uh, "OK". Since I am still not very happy with it.

The spooky thing in the window. Okay, I really wanted to make it look like a spooky evil GRE thing, but... it's so cute. XD I love you, spooky cloudy thing in the window. XD And look, it's smiling, isn't it just plain cute? =D

Cursed seal thing. Okay, kids, know that Cursed Seal thing belongs to Kishimoto-san. =D Actually, I drew the bg and the windows and then I thought "Tokitoh, what are these beautiful innocent girls doing in there? How could you imprison them, you evil-evil-evil freak!" So... uh, I decided to make the girl that looks more innocent, uh, I decided to make her evil GRE girl. Well, yes, I know the eyes are not glowing, but you still get the idea, right? 8) And then I was like OMG it's red eyes. 0__0 Red eyes = Sasuke = cursed seal. <3 So now the poor girl is cursed. I am sorry, girl, but if you're not cursed, I will have to make a cute grass-brush bg to fit your innocent cuteness... and we don't want that, do we? +_+

It took me a lot of time to decide where to submit the wall, but since MT staff encourages us to submit stuff here, here it is. %)

My personal concerns: is the bg too dark? I mean, if I make it brighter, will it ruin the whole atmosphere?

If you read until this point, thank you for being so patient. <3

The wall took me: 7 hours.
Layers: around 50 I think.
PSD file size: around 40 Mb.
Artwork by: Takeshi Okazaki
Got the girls from: http://digik.net

I like it I think it looks good. I like the fading tattoo on the one girl and the outfits are nice too I also noticed to little "demon" for lack of better words behind the bars of the window nice touch

Well I can only say that I feel that this wallpaper has the wrong background. The shadows decrease the quality somewhat---

I think it's because the costuming is traditional Japanese wheras the background seems like this Western gothic castle place--- overall it's nice, but I think that there could have been a better seeting :)

The lighting is just kinda wrong as well... the one on the right is really bright O_O compared to the dark background... so yeah >_>

Also, the scan quality is a bit grainy and you might want to add on another layer median blur 5 pixels on a soft light blending mode. One thing I would like is the patterns on the kimono somehow repeated in the back... they are just so interesting but the background doesn't really hold much interest for me..

And is that a freaky face outside the window? :o

I would get rid of that >_<

But this is a really nice wallie :D ^_^V

kuroimisa-san, oh, thank you so much for the comment. <3

Um, I actually like the background. I don't know how gothic it is, but I really want to see the girls in some kind of prison. ^^' You think that in Japan they have different prisons? Or is it the shape of the windows that reminds you of Europe?
And, what kind of setting would you prefer? Outdoors? I was thinking about outdoors, maybe in a Japanese garden, with lanterns and stuff, but... I don't know. I like the prison thing better, for some reason. The girls look spooky, and the lanterns thing is for something more kawaii-ish... unless I'm walling KakuRenbo. KakuRenbo is a different story. *shivers*

Oh, my spooky cloudy thing. T__T Oh well.

Okay, how does this look? You said that something more Japanese would be appropriate and you liked the flower pattern. So I was thinking "Japan = Sakura blossoms = flowers". So I ended up with this. ^^ The blossoms are actually a brush I made for this special occasion. ;__;

Other people who (perhaps T__T) read the thread, don't you have anything coherent to say? If you don't share an opinion, how can I improve? Is the thing so crappy you don't even want to spend time telling me how much it sucks? ^^'

Draconis112, oh, thank you for the comment. ^_^

I think it's a good job! But in my little opinion there is something you have to fix. The bars shadows on the girls must follow the body lines (I know that it is difficult task, but you got this idea, no?). Also try to fix the hairs of the girl on the left: are they covering the right shoulder of the other girl? They are too different from the left hair style. If you want leave them as they are try to fix them with some hair reflex.
The background: it's a bit monotonous, and the left side is too empty. Put the girls in the middle of the wall. Sorry to cover your smoke smiling guy, but it's better if you remove it (it ruins the atmosphere of the wall) and place the moon or some dark clouds over desertic plains.
Hope I was some help. Bye!

Okay, this should be the final version that I am going to submit to the gallery. ^^' I tried to consider all of the advices and, uh, I think that this walpaper looks better than the first one. o__o Yay for the sandbox and cookies for the people who comment. <3

I like it... but i personally think you should brighten the foreground the SLIGHTEST bit... just so you can see their outlines clearer...

or you could add freaky lights in the background.... (stupid suggestion, yeah... but i'm not much of a critic)

Taking into account the direction of the light streaming in from the window in front of the characters, you should be able to have at the very least a dim view of the wall behind the characters.

Having untouched stock at the back kinds of kills the whole feel since it looks "detached" from the wall. And remove that pile of petals on the left. It makes the characters look too short.

You need to lower the window more and make it bigger. This is due to perspective issues resulting from the size of the characters.

I'm not the type to lace my comments with sugar words, so hope you'll understand that if it sounds harsh. (I'm very picky about wallpaper quality).

I love that opening too, its so cool!
the beat & everything...^^ OX
But your pic.... is kinda scary....
T_T

the lighting is weird and the pic is creepy but overall, pretty good^^

Very nice :) . Just one thing: I agree with kiopi that the bg looks slightly detached. At that distance and that amount of light, the bg should be dimmer, and blurrier. It looks too focused now, which clashes with the style of the charas. Also, the pile of petals is too concentrated; it creates an alternate focus point that also distracts from the charas. You may want to scatter the petals them a bit more, so that you can see space in between.

Thank you all for your comments. They helped me a lot. ^________^ The final (really-really final I mean) thing is in the gallery now and I am kind of proud of the fact that I was able to submit such a nice wall. XD All thanks to you. *hugs everybody ^^v*
