A local farmer just gave me a bunch of imo (purple sweet potatoes) and I am stumped on what I should make with them. So far I have just been cooking then and eatting them with a little butter, but that's starting to get boring. Does anyone have any recipies or suggestions?

wow! i want some! usually my mother just boil them... and we'll just peel off the skin & eat them...

You can do anything with Imo, any kind of meal which works with potatoes moreover.
Making a "ragout" is something I like with Imo, carrots, peas, and rabbit

@kusco: can you explain what a "ragout" is? Is it like a stew? Better yet, want to come and cook it for me?

yup plain white sugar... just pour the sugar on a dish.. and eat the sweet potato by dipping into the sugar... yum!

It sounds a bit like Daigakuimo, which is liquified sugar poured onto sweet potatoes. Thanks for the tip!

yeah... though i've only tried those orange kinda sweet potato in porridge...

haha, it's just like cooking porridge like normal except that you add in the seet potatoes while it's cooking! it's nothing fancy but it's quite nice..at least to me it is!
i don't know the details though, sorry, coz i don't cook.. (i only turned 15 recently so i still don't do much cooking!)
