Lucid Dreaming...?

Body, Mind & Fashion

OK to start off, this is only for those who didn't have to look up the word "lucid" :D

Now moving on... has anyone experienced this? Or have at least tried?

Let's see... Dreams are a phenomenon itself which we humans don't completely understand, however something we do know is that we all have them. Unfortunately, most people don't realize they've been dreaming until after they wake up from their slumber, even then they may not recall any such dreams. But being able to acknowledge the fact that you're dreaming while you're dreaming is an experience unrivaled. Where you able to literally direct the contents of your dream, in other words, create any scenario and do anything. And the best part is every sense is affected so it genuinely feels real; whether it be flying over your town, walking through walls, or talking w/ your favorite anime character, not to mention engaging in any carnal desires you might fancy. ;)

...But I won't go into the greater details and the how-to's, since there is already plenty of information out there. I'll just say if you're willing to put in the effort and train your mind to achieve lucidity during sleep, it's definitely worthwhile... I mean, where else are you going to experience mind-blowing scenarios that are only bound to your very imagination? hmm

Well anyways, sweet dreaming...oyasumi :nya:

ok, maybe it would work if you actually realized you were dreaming, then take control of it from where you left off ~ reaching this stage is hard ~ call it stage 2

after that, creating a scenario and controlling ~ another harder level to reach ~ call it stage 3

ive reached stage 2 but someone/thing always wakes me up or my mind just starts to have an ever increasing ring tone wake me up from the dream, kinda like an eject button

i might reach stage 3 if i could find a mountain to live on without everyday responsibilities that mess up the flow of thought

there are 3 types of dreams i usually have:

1. De ja vue dreams - in which i myself vaguely understand but sometimes get it when it actually happens. one experience was i had a de ja vue dream of weird 3-d cartoon characters going around the tv and after 10-12 years it was Toy story.... XD

2. Imaginative dreams - obscure, weird and non linear in sotryline that they are complicated in many meanings and movements which i understand bit by bit but when i wake up i forget most of it.

3. Fast nightmarish / controllable dreams - When you are tired and sleepy, its one of those dreams where the moment you close your eyes its either :
a. Nightmare which you want to get out but you cant move any muscle in your body until you blink, move your little finger or toes just to snap out of it and
b. A controllable dream where you , yourself can control.

But as usual i CANT fully interpret dreams of mine but from what most of my friends say I can intrepret other peoples dreams like a dreamweaver....But all in all dreams are to be both understood and relived if one should actually discover oneself.

Yah jasaiyajin, everyday life certainly disturbs your clock and makes things more difficult, especially since it requires your complete attention and involvement. T_T

I have yet to create a scenario at will while in a dream... so far I have only tried to simply create the scenario before sleep and basically "hypnotize" myself to dream it, which is just one of many exercises.

And Oracle, if you can remember your dreams well then you're already halfway there to taking control of them. What you described are manifestations of some dreams; fabricated from your current state, past experiences, or possibly fuzzy prophetic images. Nonetheless, your innate mind & body speak to you through dreams, as you said.

My... I need more weekends so I can sleep in and practice -_-

Yeah, when I'm about a quarter awake I can manipulate the scenes to my desire - so much that I don't want to wake up. A fun 14 hours, that. I try everytime I have a dream and am half awoken by my brother's computer games, and sometimes I manage to do it. But, unfortunately, my mother comes in and yells and me to wake up soon after. Pfft.
What you suggest intrigues me. Can it be considered, perhaps, a form of medidation and control of the subconscious? (Not that I know what I'm talking about, I'm just a 12 year old kid ^^")

I have one every morning. I'll realize i'm dreaming and be able to control some aspects of the dream. It's usualy one of the people who are in my dream that I can control. Although, some times the person isn't me, but it is me, and my physical body is nowhere in the dream.

i have more dreams that make me scream out loud than those silent ones.
there are many times, i fell out of bed and became numbed by the knock on my legs.
there are also times when i feel like suffocated.
i cannot control them, when you do i guess you are a better person?

I've have lucid dreams before. But i only had control for a couple seconds. i wish i could lucid dream for a little longer.

i have lucid dreamed a lot! i can take control for the whole dream! well i wouldn't say control since i only know i'm dreaming and that's all i can do.

Lucid dreaming is AWESOME and is incredibly fun.

The majority of them consists of me flying and flapping my arms like a chicken, but the one that I really liked was one where I was sitting with a person who became a robot. When I got up, it snuck up behind me and attacked me. That sucked. So I rewound the scene back to when it was still sitting and beat the snot out of it (or wiring). Several men in black didn't like that so they appeared and started chasing me. When they threw projectiles at me I was like "UH OH! That's not good." So I froze the scene, got rid of the projectiles out of the air... then began to summarily beat up the MIBs also. XD

I other lucid dream I really liked was when I was a psuedo-Rambo. Machine guns, war tanks, and all the likes. "Hmm... something's missing. Oh yes, ADD HOSTAGES." Up pops hostages screaming in guarded building. So fun when you can go on a rampage without consequences.

I experience it almost every time I dream! Because of this, I haven't experienced a nightmare in literally years!

Man I've never had that problem before! When ever I wake up, I'm able to go back to sleep and continue from where I left off!

when i was younger i used to have lucid dreams, but only for a little while, because i made it go my way then it seemed to be going by my conscience's way. after that i would wake up. at times when i would wake up and go back to sleep i would continue my dream from there...thank goodness caz everytime someone wakes me up is when i'm having good dreams=]
