Intellectual characters of animes/mangas.

General Anime & Manga Talk

(This may be taking a stab at thread making for me [since I'm not really good at it] but, here I go.)

In some anime/manga I notice that there are intellectual (intelligent [and/or reserved]) people scattered about (as opposed to people who aren't... the brightest bulbs in the shed.). So, in your opinion, who is the most intellectual character you have ran into during your time of reading manga/watching anime, and most importantly, why do you see them as an intellectual.

An example in my case would be like: "Kanzaki Urumi from GTO since she can find ways to manipulate situations for her own benefit, although she is quite a trouble maker, she is quite intelligent in order to pull of all the stunts she does without getting caught." Or something to that affect.

(I hope this isn't infringing upon any rules of these forums or is a repeat of any past topics.)

hahahahahaha good question
for me it's Raww le Klueze from Gundam Seed and Chairman Gilbert Dullindal From Gundam Seed Destiny.
their word's are verry verry good to hear even no one knows they're being manipulated and their words always make everybody sure it's right to support them.

:) Probably Subaru and Seishiro from Tokyo Babylon... probably one of my favorite manga of all time... because they discuss a lot of philosophical issues dealing with life and society... :3

Maybe Kino from Kino no Tabi as well, although she's not necessarily "intellectual," the situations and worlds that she ends up in often are :)

lol, one that pops to mind is...shikamaru, from naruto... o_o
weird how he can plan so far ahead... ._.
him and his 200+ iq...

Shikamaru is definately one, I also think that dude from Chobits that made persocoms but he died... so he doesn't count...

Well, from something like Samurai Champloo, there's the character Jin, and his opposite, Mujen (Mugen?). Or, from Scryed, Kazuma and ... well, everyone else in that show is an intellectual compared to him.

sailor mercury...

ishida uryuu

this young girl in X who's working for the seven angels...

i listed these 3 coz they are all super smart in their studies... esp the 1st two... the last girl.. she's super smart in computer stuff..

The only brainiac I can think of is Ami from Sailor Moon. She'll always be the original anime fem-smartie. Very logical and calm, but sometimes being so smart has drawbacks..especially when you're a teenager.

Is Ishida from Bleach really smart, or does he just look bookish?

Polarie- are you talking about Satsuki?

Cheer for Kanzaki Urumi from GTO!
I'd have to Kino no Tabi as a series is definitely intellectual and philosophical but I'm not sure you can really say Kino herself is "intellectual"

As for other "intelligent" anime characters...there's always Arima and Miyazawa from Kare Kano- the perfect genius couple :-)

kurumi from spiral is pretty intellectual

Kurama from yu yu hakusho is pretty, no very intellectual. He is so smart, everytime i see him he's like solving something. Like in an episode he was doing that Taboo game to save his friends' spirits/souls (one or the other), man he's so cool, Thats like one of my fav episodes with him. He's one HOT nerd.
